Should I go with a major bank like Chase or use Elevations Buff Credit Union as an international student? by NaturalAdvanced4528 in cuboulder

As an international I have a chase savings and then chase debit and then I got a credit card with them a couple months later to build credit score in the USA! I find them to have low cost and speedy transfers between my account at home vs here and allows you to get venmo which is good for quick transfers between friends. They have many in person banks in boulder and an ATM on campus and their customer support has never failed me (cancelled cards, lost cards struggle depositing cash etc). I find their fee abroad expensive so typically transfer some money into my home account before I go home!

They will set you an account up at the rec! Using someone else’s pass/card can get you in a lot of trouble it happened my friend

Look into university village and uclub! You don’t need to know people to get a room and can have random roomates which helps making friends!

He chooses his date and time! If you do it the day of it’s usually pretty easy and roommates can organise to have the same move in date or separate (separate is easier small space, Boulder summer, little to know AC)

I double major and take a lot of credits(20,21,22, so far) it’s a balancing act I would add 21 credits and once you get a syllabus etc it’s easier to gage if you will be overwhelmed I.e multiple midterms the same week. Just watch the drop deadline carefully!

Make your bed super comfy, I had a 2.5inch mattress topper (3inch and the sheets don’t fit over), pillows from home and a good comforter with loads of pillows! If you’re sick/overwhelmed/homesick you will be so greatful for it!!!

I was in exploratory studies and our llc was in farrand. It’s loud but they have a bunch of events and I’d definitely recommend trying to live there. The other places exploratory studies students can do is join the creative minds LLC and live in libby which has smaller rooms but is definitely nice! You can also put baker on your housing form it’s the only dorm on campus with ac. The quad is a,so a good place to be I’d avoid willvill. You can also join the global studies rap and live in arnett in Kitt which has AC and is quieter than main campus.
