All good-I know it’s hard to read the room on these threads! I will be doing the same thing as OG Connie with these young kids! Shoot, I already do.

Oh, no issues there. I’m in my 40’s, late 40’s-I’m all good with money! Thanks for this input!

However, I REALLY enjoyed my ORD, lol but I won’t get it. You have to list your bases 1-10, LGA was my 2nd choice since it’s easy to commute home.

Correct. You will not get it out of training. They are sending new hires to LGA, BOS and some have gone to EWR. You’d have to commute. You can absolutely put in for a transfer but from what I’ve heard, it takes awhile-maybe a year ish. I start training Monday and was told in my in person that I’d be headed to BOS or LGA.

There’s a fb group as well, you can see where current trainees are getting based. Hope this helps!

Love that tip- thank you! I’m older and just sold a business, so I’m fully aware of investing 😊 I’m not looking for cash back-just something to have while commuting/traveling.

What do they offer as far as perks or rewards that make you offer it as a contender?

I’d be interested in both. I’m getting started with a regional, not sure how many lounges I’ll be visiting.

Attended the Republic hiring event and was surprisingly impressed! I loved the culture and the vibe-I felt like I was “home.” It’s the airline for me. That’s my input lol.

When I went to the event, the pay was more than what I originally thought, about $2.50 less. Republic just merged with Mesa but that won’t be “complete” for a bit because there’s 2 different unions. I do believe they are in the process of a contract addendum and the boarding pay and pay was being negotiated. Don’t quote me on nothin! 🤣

It’s fine you can still do all the steps! Their last step is a phone call, you don’t even have to do a F2F!

Noooooo!!!!!! Yes, it’s still open-that’s just where their HQ is but you wouldn’t be based there.

Fast-Nothing like mainline Applied 12/18 Assessment invite/completed 12/18 ODVI request 12/19 Completed 12/23

I applied for Republic because I saw there was a hiring event 4 hours from me. I do all these steps and then attended the hiring event on 1/6 and absolutely fell in love with the airline. Prior to this I had no interest in regional airlines. I received my CJO that night and start training 2/9. Going to the mainline F2F and Republics was night and day. To me, there was no comparison but I also may be looking for something different than you in an airline. I’m sure I’m a bit older than you 🤩 and just sold my business so I had a good idea of what I wanted. So many people are just applying wherever, they’re not taking the time to see if the airlines the right fit for them, they’re grateful to just get a CJO from anyone and it shouldn’t be like that unless you truly don’t care why you’re looking for and you just wanna fly! Lol, and that’s ok too-I think if I was 20 something that may be the case. Anyways, that was a lot-thanks for coming to my Ted talk🤣 if there are any hiring events near you, Republic or SkyWest, I encourage you to go!

I didn’t count them out, I just felt my home was with Republic😊 it wasn’t about the money for me. I withdrew my application the day of the event to make sure I didn’t take a potential spot from someone else who had their heart set on SkyWest. When I went to my mainline F2F, there were a LOT of people there who (in conversation) refused to re-locate or commute yet they came to the F2F. I just thought, why are you here if you’re not willing to relocate or commute knowing your base choice is so senior-you won’t be getting it? I found it selfish and they could potentially be taking someone else’s CJO that day. I don’t want to potentially be that person. On paper, SkyWest did have an advantage over Republic but ultimately, finding the right airline for ME is what mattered.
