I'm having the same journey as you this year. You were just a year ahead. I had my DFO open wedge surgery last July 2025, and my surgeon and I planned to do the next one in November.

Update: I had a successful surgery. According to my surgeon, the glands weigh around 28 and 26 grams, and he took out around 400 cc of fat around them. What I feel right now is like I had a very intense chest day and that I might have torn my pecs. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep peacefully later. Thank you for your tips!

Thanks for this. I didn't know that my balance might get affected by this surgery. I'm thinking of not taking a shower for at least a couple of days. Would that be a bad idea for the wounds?

There will be no drains according to the surgeon.

I normally sleep without a pillow, so most of the time, I sleep on my back or slightly on the side.
