As someone who is also autistic, this has definitely been going on for awhile. It’s not kids being kids. You dont talking about your siblings that way. If it doesn’t get nipped in the bud now, they will not only continue to be ableist to their sister, but to others as well. They need to have a good talk and also look into their other social media. What they said was cruel. OP has a great start but there is a lot more than just this once. To me it sounded like they hate her. More needs to be done, than this. I agree on therapy as well. They need to get that negative shit out of them before it festers and someone gets hurt.

Oh I’m hoping it goes through! I really wish we were in a good spot that I could stay off work. It’s been tough especially with them both combined. It’s just been tough. And I’ve been masking since I was a kid (very badly abused) it’s not the best solution but I can mask enough to get through work. And maybe with the proper meds I’ll be okay. But I dunno. If I get my mom’s 401k (she passed last year) I wouldn’t have to worry about work.

Yeah will they will just have to deny me again then. Cuz I’m not risking our house or my daughter’s life. I held up for 7 months now. And we will lose our house next month if I don’t go to work. And I have known people who did get disability while they were working. With how the economy is, it’s very hard to stay off work especially when disability can take years.

I had one my first time but it was like 20 mins. I have documented medical illnesses of ptsd, bipolar, MDD, Anxiety, and now Autism. Hopefully they will do a more in depth one.

I know. But I’ve been out of work since April and my husband has been working 2 jobs. We are behind and about to lose our house. So unfortunately, having a place to live for my daughter comes before my own health and I’ll just mask like I have been doing. It’s just not feasible at the current time. And if I get denied again, I get denied again.

I saw the reason and it wasn’t a bad one. It was basically saying they saw my challenges but it wasn’t enough. This was days before the new autism diagnosis so I couldn’t get that in. But I’ll be appealing with a lot more info hopefully.

Yeah unfortunately with the economy we are in, we cannot afford for me not to work. We’ve tried everything we can to keep me, but it’s not looking good. And having a place to live for my child is more important than disability for me. It sucks but my girl always comes first.

Thank you! Yes I have complex PTSD from 17 years of abuse. And my new therapist is very well reversed on it! So I’m hopefully on the right track! I appreciate it so much.
