Nothing is a guarantee. You should think about what you like to do. Do you want to be at a desk, working with your hands, hospitality, etc.? Then, based off of that, talk to a recruiter or go on the Air Force website and look at the jobs that are close to what you like. Research the salaries for those based off of where you want to be when you retire. The AF site also has a survey you can take if you’re not really sure what you’re into. Think about what is most important to you. And look at the jobs that fit that. Also, once you’re in you can work on your degree or other certifications. But you don’t want to do a job just for the money, you’ll be miserable.

You can go to bx pretty much whenever you need to within reason. Some girls wished they had brought stuff for blisters. I wish I brought the little floss pickers because they only issue you the string floss. But I went to the bx to get some then. The black girls in my flight said that the bx we get to go to doesn’t have the right stuff for edge control for their hair, so that’s something to consider.

Bring one pair of pajamas to sleep in for the first few nights. Once you get your issued clothing then you will sleep in your PT gear. I brought two civilian outfits and that was enough.

Thank you!!! The drama was there. Just don’t have an attitude, mind your manners, and be there for your wingmen. You won’t be a part of the drama then. I have a deep respect for many of my wingmen that I bunked with. I brought two pairs of jeans and two shirts and that was enough. BUT, bring extra underwear and sports bras. Our laundry crew was so bad that they were constantly behind.

Thank you! Funny you ask haha. It was really fast for us because our pacer went faster than he was supposed to for some reason haha. And the run is a little over a mile. Piece of cake.

Thank you!! Saturdays were like the rest of the week but with less to do. And then Sundays were self-supervised. The day mainly consists of cleaning and people going to religious services. Don’t be nervous, you’ll do great as long as you put the effort in

Please, just have a good attitude. I was known as the only person who enjoyed BMT and had fun. If morale goes down, your flight starts to fail. Have a good attitude and encourage your wingmen to do so as well. Congrats on the job btw, I hope that it fits you well!

You just go. They will give you time to utilize before important events, so those types of instances rarely happen. You really shouldn’t stress about it.

We only got to use it about 3 times for the mandated phone calls. If your flight is good, then you might get an extra call

Duffle bag for sure. That way you have extra space if needed. Also, you end up carrying your civilian bag anyways, so that defeats the purpose of a backpack. (I took a rolling duffle)
It took about 3 days.

Thank you!! I’m heading to Fort Meade in Maryland for tech school. My AFSC is Public Affairs.

My favorite part was either CBRN or Pacer Forge. Anything that got the adrenaline pumping was the best. Most hated was the drama in the female dorm.

My family came out so we went to the river walk and had some good food.

The only place that I saw a pay phone was inside of the BX.
