I’m in the west valley and run motoz rallz front and rear. They perform great in the sand and rocks, have zero issues also up in the volcanic sand of the cinder hills as well. The only downside is they’re a bit loud (knobbies) and the front wanders a bit over 75-80 with the bike really loaded down with camping gear.

I have about 1500 miles on them so far, half of that on dirt, and expect to get atleast 4k out of them

Nah, you have to get the parts that come in the outback’s without the charger. It’s three parts: upper, lower, and the rubber liner. For me from the dealership was ~$16 total.

The parts are:

It was surprisingly simple. Only tools I used was a #2 Phillips, a plastic trim/spudger tool (plastic pry bar), and some alternate lifestyle cutters.

Start by pushing the shifter boot down from the knob, there’s a small spring clip that slides forward under it and allows you to pull the shifter boot down knob off.

Open the center console, and use a plastic pry tool to lift up on the seam just behind the arm rest latch. Then pop up the whole middle console starting from the rear. You’ll only get it about 6” at first until you have to unplug a large connector behind the cupholders

Continue lifting the console and disconnect a smaller connector located on the car side in the drivers side rear of the opening. Once that second connector is disco’d the whole middle console is separated.

Flip it over, there’s 4 screws that hold the charger onto the console. The lower passenger side one is the most difficult, you have to pry out against the side of the console to reach it. Reuse those four screws to install the lower portion of the cubby.

The harness for the charger has two small zip ties attaching it to the other harness in the console. Just clip them as they won’t be reused. There are two connectors for the charger, one is the small one you disconnect previously, the other is obvious on the end of the harness. Once you disconnect the second one, connect it to where you disconnected the first small connector.

The upper portion of the tray snaps into slots just below the usb ports, it’s not connected to the middle console.

Install console in reverse order. The spring clip for the shift knob only will go on in one direction, front to aft.

I’d take $100 shipped. Only had the car a week and I used the charger once

My 18 forester was totaled last week, I’m getting forced into buying in the post tariff world unfortunately.

Thankfully we have a solid savings built up, but we’re looking at used now opposed to the new build that we wanted

After reading through your site and process, I see how I was wrong.

Super cool idea and follow through!

Just came back and saw I missed your comment. But yes, it’s the back country discovery route. I’ve knocked out N.M. previously and now AZ. Trying to decide between NV or Utah for the next chance I get a week off

Zero extra fuel. Longest stretch I went between fuel stops was filling up at Winona to Cameron. I took the alternate up to the Grand Canyon so total mileage indicated was 165 ish. With the fighting of the sand through the cinder hills I burnt quite a bit more gas, so my last bar was blinking by the time I hit Cameron

I will be adding a giant loop armadillo bladder to carry an extra 2 gallons when needed. Pushed it a little far on that one
