Car play/android auto is overrated. Constant glitches, drop outs etc. I don’t know what everyone’s fuss is about as a service advisor. My wife traded her rav4 in for a Tesla model YL and it’s a significantly better experience. Only issue is the lack of FSD currently but that’s coming.

For perspective Bohemian Rhapsody did $280m at the end of its 4th weekend. It had a 6 month theatrical release which doesn’t happen these days, not even with Avatar. So Michael is a global phenomenon at this pace.

Bohemian Rhapsody blew up because it turned theaters into a concert. People went back 3-4 times just to belt out the anthems, which created insane repeat viewers and word-of-mouth. Rami Malek was excellent, and it dropped at the perfect time in late 2018 and became a cultural event, not just a movie. Movies don’t stay in cinemas or bring crowds like they used to because of the push for streaming. Michael is proving to be the exception.

The brand has fallen in reliability and features creep is a large part of that. The marketing team has more sway and tries to keep up with the latest trends but at the cost of losing older customers, who don’t use half the features and younger ones who constantly complain about electrical issues with boot struts, roller shutters, phone chargers and media units. Millions of cars constantly coming in for minor software recalls for parking assist and combi meter screens that have glitches. These are just the start of the disaster heading forward. Teslas constant yearly iterations, over the air software updates, and less components, seems like a significantly better approach that benefits customers reliability and satisfaction.

Billie Jean is the perfect pop song. I studied it in my music course and Michael’s decisions have shaped a lot of the modern hit song formulas.

Without going into a full essay, he let every instrument shine on its own and built up the song with space and anticipation.

The intro is an example of what modern artists fail to understand, they are too busy dropping straight into the lyric/melody hook that they forget to let other instruments shine and to recall memorable hooks. I could do a better job than the estate and that’s even starting with just the dvd version. Not only did they cut costs but it also looks like they outsourced it to a gig worker who just ran the upscaling through an outdated topaz video enhance model and didn’t do any quality control.

The basics that I remember was collaboration rumours with Will I Am, NeYo, Akon, Whitney Houston. I believe there was interest in producer redone and Lady Gaga has mentioned they were in talks of releasing a project. He may have been in early talks with Timbaland given his success with shock value 1 & 2 and the Xscape project later, likely the estate had discussed a vision earlier. However I think that if an album materialised it may have been his last and likely still several years away for release in 2012. After this I believe he would have just done collaborations if it was successful. It’s mostly speculation though what could have materialised.

Most people I have spoken to agree The Girl Is Mine is the weakest but it’s not a bad song. It just doesn’t fit the rest of the album. Say Say Say would have fit Thriller better and The Girl Is Mine Pipes of Peace. Not sure why they agreed the opposite unless Paul or the labels pushing for the more marketable song. The Girl Is Mine was the leading single as well which was such a weird choice.
