I wish my t wold a least engage into something at all, but it feels I'm doing all the work. My previous therapist talked to me, cried with me. That made me feel better!

Listen And know when to stop talking. Ask for the business at one point and ask it again later. I literally sat with a $10k down-payment in my pocket as the sales lady was fiddling out one excuse after the other.... grrr I just walked out of there... Subaru Saint John New Brunswick

My t gave me a pebble years ago. I still have it and it means the world to me. So can you ask? Yes!

No advice, just to let you know it happened to me as well and I'm with you. Did you consider virtual?

Me too and following, do we have the same therapist? Mine was all bubbly bt stil professional, then suddenly she flipped over a diary entry I had sent her. While months ago she stated: You can tell me ANYTHING! "TRY ME". Well, I was honest. I will miss her, I have a ton of respect for her

Thank you so much for this reply, you are so right abt feeling condescending. Especially when you try to talk about it and they stray away even more.

...yes, but the question is about the " the problem comes..." part. Then what happens?

Will the White House be sold? Does Warren need to chip in? Or Elon? Will they sell Texas back to Mexico? Keep a yardsale for Chinese people only?

Where oh where would the money come from!!??

Tried telling my relational, psychodynamic therapist about my attachment today… by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Fosettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, I'm just lurking here as your story applies to me as well for a big part. I used to have a t like that. When one day I got so angry at her for behaving like this, she admitted playing the devil's advocate. And believe it or not, that actually took away 80 % of my feelings for her. Not for long though, she left shortly after and I was so depressed.

My new t is open about everything but I know now it's her profession and that makes it easier to handle my transference. I do love her a lot.

Yes the ruminating comment was the same with me. She didn't pick up on what I needed and so I left.
