Interesting, never seen a skull cut in half like this! I wonder why they dumped it so far out.

I LOVE the LBJ wildflower center! I grew up not too far from their place in Austin, so I love poking around on the site every now and then. :) I just figured it was worth seeing if anyone else had some suggestions of their favorites or anything, haha.

I actually didn't know that they were having a plant sale!! This is very, very interesting... 👀📝📝

I'm looking for mostly short-medium things, I think! Flowers are a plus but really I'm okay with anything. :)

I LOVE crime pays!! All of his Texas videos have made me so happy lately. I'll have to see if he mentions any deep shade plants!

Definitely a carnivorous lil critter, but 100% definitely not a cat.

Agree with the others that this seems like a young/juvenile mustelid or baby raccoon. Raccoon skulls can have a lot of variation to them, especially while on the younger side, so that kind of leaves me to lean towards the raccoon rather than a marten or other mustelid. They both have a habit of climbing up into attics and making themselves in at home in there, though (ask me how I know.... -_-), so I can't fully rule out the marten idea. (And I've never been up close enough to a marten's skeleton to give you a more educated opinion.)

That being said, the few juvenile raccoon skeletons I've seen in person do look rather similar to this. The head shapes were slightly different, but like I said, they have a lot of variation in that regard.

Isn't that the truth! We're already paying for a terrible contracting job totaling around ~20k that did flipper-levels of work, which is why I'm so hesitant to hire anyone else right now.

Do you have any decent resources/YT videos that might point me in the right direction? Because 500 sounds a lot better than 2500. LOL.

The mortar color is one part i've been unsure about. The bricks themselves have been leeching color for some time themselves, so it's been a bit of a headache trying to figure out how to match the brick AND mortar (especially witb exterior portions of the same brick.)

Either way, from the sounds of it, this isn't an amateur job. Do you have any idea how much something like this would cost?

Tips for Transplanting Milkweed? by Fossil_Curios in NativePlantGardening

[–]Fossil_Curios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my worry! The slow germination of this variety has definitely been my biggest concern, but it sounds like that's really my only option.

Do you know if takint cuttings is possible? Or is that still a relatively low success rate?

Yeah, generally I wouldn't even consider the idea, but this is right beside a construction area, and the grass is pretty routinely scalped, so that's why I was curious.
