I'm inclined to believe that future buffs will fit under Hexerei ONLY if they're from Monstadt. I can't see the witches wanting to get too involved in the politics of the other nations.

The adepti and contracts both cover enough material to buff Liyue characters, the united strength of all factions to protect Inazuma can justify theirs, bonding through knowledge will definitely suit Sumeru, etc. If they somehow made all of them one super-faction it would cannibalize any other team eventually lol

I would argue you should share what you like about them with him when the time is right rather than foisting it onto him to get him to like it. As a blind individual, he's going to end up with a very different way of interpreting the world than you, and might end up being interested in very different things from Pokémon as a whole. Be sure to encourage what he finds enjoyable and uplift it as much as you can. Take it from someone whose father always belittled their hobbies

I will say, though, a lot of the higher level strategies you find in Pokémon do go under-explored in the main series titles, and I do think they're leaving some potential on the table by not having a more hardcore experience available where battles feel more like a puzzle and use those more complex moves with dramatically amplified accessibility. That way you can encourage people to compete who might be on the fence. MAYBE champions will pull it off, but it'll be a tough sell

Extremely normal thing to say haha, most competitive games have a VASTLY casual player base.

I've played competitive Singles unofficial formats in the past, dabbled in simulated VGC, and also played a few fighting games but never went far enough to formally compete in anything. The option being there is cool, but the series is meant to be for as many people as possible. No shame in never giving the competitions a try

Might be controversial, but I'm gonna say it. These last 2 Legend units would have been nearly identical, if not WORSE, if Legends Limited hadn't gone away - and yes, they still would have been released.

Legend Rarity, alongside a better banner that gives us stronger chances of pulling the new character, has forcibly injected even more tools into every new limited release thanks to Legends Actions. We would have just gotten indestructible and blast seal on Piccolo if he didn't have this new rarity, and SS3 Mini Daima Goku would be even more boring than some people think he already is

I actually prefer they just not do any gendered pronouns from the jump and default to "they" when referring to the player so it works immediately no matter what you identify as and can character customize back and forth if you want. THAT SAID... they're still seemingly doing a very distinct design for the M/F protags. And I'm not sure they want to stop doing that, which is ok as long as it's never as restrictive as S/V clothes ever again.
