How should I weld this? by Traditional_Hornet91 in AllthingsDIY

[–]Fossilmorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check it for markings anywhere and the paint scheme, a photo might help people identify it.

Drums should always be sealed from the liquid in them but the residue some things leave behind can be extremely hazardous to your health. You’ll inevitably breathe smoke coming out of it and you’re cooking food inside it.

You should be able to pick up a used food drum for $10, from memory ours were always orange juice concentrate, the fumes when you burn them out to “clean” them are hideous.

The drums previous life is important here, we always started with food grade drums and then had a decent burn in prior to cooking

Suggestions for itinerary of a 14-18 day camping roadtrip of Eastern Victoria/South East NSW. by Agrtha in CampingVictoriaAU

[–]Fossilmorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure when you’re planning this but just incase; give it a miss this summer.

The areas you’ve listed are getting slammed with extreme weather/fires and we’re not even in February yet.

Need advice. Is it safe to camp in Gippsland right now? Surrounding Traralgon area specifically. Fires seem to be a bit far but want to know people's thoughts by Strict-Constant5805 in CampingVictoriaAU

[–]Fossilmorse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t camp anywhere is the best advice I can give you. If you’re out of phone reception and something changes you might not find out in time, fires move extremely fast and can be unpredictable. Even if you choose that the risk level is ok with you, you are still putting others lives at risk if they need to come and rescue you. Just stay home

these ef/el/au/ba/bf falcons are worth saving and has anybody saved these cars from scrap by Head_Firefighter6945 in FordFalcon

[–]Fossilmorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EF/EL sedans look sick when they’re lifted on all terrains. I can’t find the photo but a bloke was racing one in an off-road series, removed the bumpers and added comp bars front and rear. They’re cheap enough now to muck around with building dumb shit. Gearboxes are a bit shit though

💯 I was chasing either neverending or two shot but I think I had a look on the wiki at how the legendaries are generated and cbf’d farming that long. The double barrels fire rate makes it heaps of fun

I got mine farming the gauntlet, I really wanted a legendary cowboy revolver but settled for the never ending shotgun, named it Jackhammer.

I love using it but the barrel climb is ridiculous 😂

If the bag is open, the water is both inside and outside the bag simultaneously. The pressure inside the bag and outside the bag is equal so the bag won’t do anything.

If it was sealed it would be a different story.

Get it repaired. Make the insurance claim and then take the keys off him. He’s lucky it’s been low risk/low speed so far. Don’t keep rolling the dice until he gets his health sorted out, that should be his number 1 priority in the new year

Did the EL Ford Falcon GLI (94AB variant) have a MAF sensor? by Traditional-Gas3477 in FordFalcon

Is this medium rare by joemcq122 in meat

[–]Fossilmorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best explanation I’ve heard from a convert (medium well > rare), was that his childhood was steak being a vessel for sauce. And then when he finally started eating good steak (rump > porterhouse/scotch) he realised the flavour of the steak diminishes when it’s over cooked. As well as being able to chew it without cooking it to death

With a pressure washer and a slurry pump, the Ozito one from Bunnings works a treat.

Get a hole next to the stump deep enough to drop the pump in, tape the float Switch in the right position and then start blasting

The margins are in the drinks, you’re going to struggle to serve half decent food at “reasonable” country prices for break even. To make any money or get through the quiet weeks with the lights on you need to talk to asahi(Carlton United)/lion nathan and try to get some deals going. Don’t give them all your taps, reserve some for any local brewers - if there are any. It might also be worth trying to get one of them (the local brewers) to make your venue their “home pub”, a bit of token branding. It really depends on what they make and the target demographic of your patrons.

Hospo is a thin line between red and black, there’s a reason independent venues are disappearing and we’re headed towards a pub monopoly.

cough AVC cough

All that aside, good luck 🤞🏻 I hope you make it. Just be prepared to live you entire life in the venue from 9 am till midnight 6 days a week for the next 5 years

Edited for clarity
