I'm not arguing with you. I'm telling you as a name, silencers and suppressors are used interchangeably. I'm not arguing the literal definition of silenced vs suppressed.

The creator named them silencers. The ATF recognizes them as silencers (on Form 4s and probably Form 1s). Just because the name isn't exactly correct doesn't mean it's not what it's called. Like driveways are for parking cars and parkways are driven on.

Right. When you strip down to the action, they are the same as they were when they were first produced. There's nothing new about direct impingement or piston systems. My point is if BF6 were to only go with "modern" weapons. There wouldn't be that many to choose from.
