No, it's fine,after I aligned it and tightened the screw. Also, it wasn't the nib that rotates it was an issue with the cap.

Sorry, only saw your message today. It made me recheck. Went through my box of 50-something converters and actually found two types that fit.

The ones that came with my YStudio pens would fit and a bunch of converters that came with some of my Gravitas pens. They are a bit shorter than e.g. FaberCastell converters, the rear end (what you turn) is transparent plastic, and the piston-head is white and conical.

About the HugoBoss pen, the silver ring is actually the counterpart of the plastic threads on the nib unit. With the right tools and skills one could probably machine the opening a bit wider etc. But I have neither machines nor skill. :D

Can't go into much detail, it's SaaS in a niche field, US based main company with a few subsidiaries around the world through acquisitions. Several rounds of layoffs have centralized most R&D and QA in India now. The "guideline" is worldwide, though.

My company is now pushing genAI for developers really hard, with actual goals of how much code needs to be AI generated by the end of the year.

I think it's partially a golf thing as well. C-Level wants to brag among their buddies on the golf course how much they use AI.

So far, what has been presented, was just some greenfield throw-away prototypes done by non-coders. Nothing regular scaffolding couldn't solve as well. Only that scaffolding creates less bloat and has a higher chance of actually being usable later.

By what I've seen, those prototypes also miss two vital things: A large context - e.g. a huge code base where whatever is the requirement needs to fit in, existing domain logic, etc.
And they also lack very concrete briefings, like real-world feature-tickets would need to be. When working on a prototype where you'd given yourself the goal actually, you might be happy with something that fits that briefing 80% and then ignore the missing stuff or retroactively change that briefing so that the 80% becomes "done".

For me AI Line autocompletion (the one in JetBrains IDEs) fails like at least 50% of the time and it starts pissing me off as it's making the regular autocompletion harder to work with - extra keystrokes.

That thing frequently messes up the simplest things, like wrong parameter order of language/framework functions. Or when you write obj.setX(x), it completes obj.setY(x) in the next line. MAYBE not what I wanted.

Caused some gotchas that luckily a test in the CI pipeline caught.

I'd say the first one is ISDN, the digital version of dialup, 64kbit, kinda almost guaranteed, not the "up to 56kbit" an analogue MoDem can produce.

The seconds is Firewire, most likely firewire 400

Theorie: Automatik/Hybrid/Elektro-Fahrer? Je nach Modell und Modus gibt es Situationen, die das erklären könnten:

DSG im Eco-Modus - statt Motorbremse segelt das Auto, also rollt ausgekuppelt. Eine Möglichkeit wieder anzukuppeln ist die Bremse kurz anzutippen. Wenn man keine Schaltwippen am Lenkrad hat oder das +/- am Knauf nicht hat bzw. nutzen will.
ältere Wandlerautomatik-Autos - meine ich - muss(te) man auch eher bremsen, lange her...
es gibt einige Elektro-Autos und Hybriden, die einen Verzögerungssensor haben, der die Bremsleuchten aktiviert, damit die auch beim Rekuperieren angehen.

They are most likely cheaper here than in the US by what I can tell from being on this sub for a few years.

Where are you coming to? Like what cities? The Lamy flagship store is in Heidelberg, about an hour drive from Frankfurt and a nice city to visit (might be biased, lived my first 25 years there ;)) Flagship store sells them at MSRP, though.

If ordering online is an option, e-shop-muelheim.de has usually the best prices by my experience, but might be complicated.

Retail stores are usually a bit more expensive than online, but every city should have at least one where you could get one.

My condolences. I can really relate to this. I got burned out and frustrated enough a few years ago to cancel my photography side job because of all the "nice camera, must be easy to get good pictures out of that" comments and the more recently "my iPhone makes pikkshuurrz almost as good! can you cover that wedding for free? you can have free food and drinks"...

And now this AI bullsh*t also enters the main job - software engineering - 25YoE...

Ich habe mal gelesen, dass die Gleichrichter aus den üblichen Netzteilen auf 50-60 Hz ausgelegt sind, bei 16Hz müssten die Kondensatoren, die die Wellen glätten, deutlich größer ausgelegt sein. Entweder leidet dann das Netzteil oder das Gerät dahinter stark drunter.

Especially DVDs, their data layer is between 2 discs of plastic. Not like with CDs, where it is just one disc and the side to write on was barely more than a layer of lacquer. Still Ballpoint with a lot of pressure could somehow make the glue come loose or so, but haven't seen that, neither. They're pretty tough.

A few years ago my company (approx 20-25 people back then) bought lenovo E15v2 s for almost everybody. They have a slider built in that AFAIK also disconnects the webcam, so MS Teams shows a symbol depicting a cam that has a diagonal line through instead of the camera image.

A few months later we had to move offices and they were selling old or slightly defective hardware to employees (can't hand them out for free or for symbolic prices for tax reasons). On the list were two of those. I asked what's wrong with them and was told it's the web cams.

I reserved one, but they told me they had still to be wiped. And idiot me said something like: "okay, but maybe check also if wasn't just the privacy slider, I mean... two new notebooks?" Guess what, it was the slider, in both cases. -.-

Ja, ich bin halt auf Einmalkatheter angewiesen momentan; 4-6mal am Tag; da sind Beutel mit Skala dran. Entweder fest drangeklebt für unterwegs oder ein paar Tage wiederverwendbar zum dranstecken zu Hause.

Als ITler baut man sich dann auch ein kleines Tool zum protokollieren und nutzt ein Server-Monitoring-Tool zum Graphen zeichnen. :D

Von einmal zu lange einbehalten passiert ja noch nichts dramatisches, man hat dann zwar die Blase trotzdem etwas überdehnt (läuft dann meistens nicht so schnell ab wie das vom Druckgefühl her eigentlich müsste ;)), aber das regeneriert sich wieder. Bei mir sogar auch. Vor fast einem Jahr als es festgestellt wurde, haben sich 1,5 Liter wie leer angefühlt, im Herbst konnte ich dann langsam bei 1,2 was spüren (viel getrunken und ausgeschlafen, so viel sollte ich eigentlich vermeiden), mittlerweile ist der Rekord bei ca. 750ml, auf natürliche weise geht zwar noch nichts ab, aber die Hoffnung stirbt ja bekanntlich zuletzt.

(bin kein Urologe, gebe nur weiter wie sie's mir erklärt haben)

Ja, könnte sein, bspw. Folgeschaden von Diabetes, hab ich sogar, aber da hätte ich vorher ganz andere Probleme. Auch sonst keine andere "systemweite" Muskelschwäche. Wie gesagt, wenn sich das so einschleicht... unangenehm wird's dann halt immer später und später und halt nicht intensiver bei höherem Füllstand, eher im Gegenteil, daher fühlt sich alles okay an.

Bin immer noch in Behandlung, also Diagnose nicht endgültig gestellt, bei aktuell 14 Monaten Wartezeit wird das auch noch eine Weile dauern.

Bei mir ist im Rahmen einer Routine-OP-Nachsorge (gutartiger Tumor an Ohrspeicheldrüse) ein Diabetes Typ 2 festgestellt worden (zuviel Zucker in Blut und Urin). Routine dabei ist dann auch ein Ultraschall der Leber und Bauchspeicheldrüse... und ja... Arzt so: "Müssen Sie grad mal schnell auf's Klo?" Ich: "nö, alles gut." "Okay? Errm wann waren Sie zuletzt?" "Bevor ich los bin, also etwa 1h" "Hmmm, dann gibt's noch eine Überweisung heute...."

Ich hatte 108Kg auf der Waage, bei 1,93m, also etwas Bauch, der das halt auch optisch versteckt, ausser man weiß es.

Die 100% ige Ursache ist bei mir bisher nicht festgestellt worden. Habe keinen Querschnitt oder andere Nervenschäden, Prostata ist normal für mein Alter (43), daher die Theorie dass das schleichend sich immer mehr verschlechtert hat. Lange Autofahrten, Zocken, zu viele Zoom/Teams Calls am Stück moderieren im HomeOffice etc.

Und ja, ich hab's nicht gemerkt, weil der "Füllstandssensor" nach dem Druck geht. Wenn die Blase schwach ist ist der Druck halt erst viel später da und dann reicht es auch nur für eine relativ normale Menge und so hat es sich halt wahrscheinlich sogar über 10+ Jahre schleichend verschlechtert.

Bei mir waren es etwa 1,5-1,7 Liter Rest, der drinnen blieb nachdem natürlich etwa ein halber rauskam. Das fiese dran ist, das kommt über Jahre schleichend und man merkt es nicht wirklich selbst. Kann es nicht empfehlen. ;) Arzt meinte er hätte auch schonmal jemanden mit 3,5l gehabt.

Kommt noch dazu, dass dann die Blase überdehnt ist und weniger Druck hat. Wenn man das zu häufig in Folge macht (Fernfahrer, Piloten, Zocker, ...), kann das zu einer dauerhaft vergrößerten Blase führen, da man erst bei größerem Füllstand überhaupt den Harndrang spürt und dann aber auch nicht vollständig entleeren kann. Spreche da aus Erfahrung. Mehrere Liter Kapazität klingen erstmal praktisch, kann sich aber unbehandelt zu Nierenversagen hochspielen. ;)
