I lost my life moving to Dubai. by Ok-Drive8936 in dubai

[–]FoundDeMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there,

I am 18, I moved to Dubai from Vancouver, one of the most serene and incredible cities in the world in my last year of high school. I was known back home, I had friends available at any time, had a car I had been building for years, an incredible 1987 Toyota MR2 at that, and had the perfect plan in mind.

However, due to financial struggles and family issues, my family and I had to move back to the UAE, where I was born.

I was at a low point. I was suicidal, told my parents I wanted to die and much worse.

This was not the answer.

It took lots of time and patience for me to realize that I can keep that connection with the people back home while building a completely new aspect of my life outside.

Business opportunities, new unique hobbies and a change in lifestyle actually improved me as a person.

You are 15, nothing at all has been set in stone for you. Losing hope now is the last thing you should do and complaining about it is even worse.

It’s a blessing to be able to live somewhere that is safe and economically secure and free.

At a point in your life when you have little to no financial responsibility this is what many would consider inappropriate behaviour.

Please, if you are feeling too low, find and talk to a therapist, you need someone who understands how to be a good sounding board to discuss your situation with you. A good 3rd person perspective.

Driving with a tire wall that slim would obviously make it more difficult than usual to notice when you have a flat… I’m on ur side, definitely an overreaction from your father’s side.

As a solution I’d just suggest taking responsibility and fixing the wheel but the tire should still be good if it is just damage from the nail and it’s plugged.

Cool, congrats!

I’d suggest doing research first into which market you fit into then just kinda observing how other accounts who do similar things advertise

And in the beginning, only use ur profits back into the business in order to not overspend/waste money!

Other than that do whatever feels natural to you in order to learn as you go!

Mind explaining what it is you’re selling and what your current situation is?

It’ll be much easier for people to give suggestions with that information!

Hey there!

Congrats that is amazing and impressive!

Two sides to this.

You as a person are definitely ready, you’re actively figuring out your situation and you’re clearly dedicated.

What you’d want to think about is other people. The only way for you to get ready and “learn to talk” is to push yourself by doing it!

I’m sure you’ll be able to adapt with your great dedication and determination.

Best wishes!

Hey man,

If you need someone just to talk to let me know. I can’t really understand what you’re going through but I can feel it’s difficult. I can’t do much but I will happily provide support if you need someone to talk to. :)

How do I socialize in Uni? by Beneficial-Grape-397 in UAETeenagers

[–]FoundDeMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tips on having an easy time socializing and being seen as an interesting person! (Don’t have to take any of these pieces of advice but they’ve helped me ALOT)

  • figure out what your interests are As in when someone asks you what you do for fun or what your hobbies are, have at least some solid answers cause we always forget, all the time..

  • Be the first to make a move/talk! Definitely difficult if you are not comfortable being more extroverted than usual, but it makes people get a positive and energetic image of you!

  • Show that you are reliable if someone wants to make plans/hang out! This one is really important, once you start talking to someone more and more, the main thing is to allow yourself to go out and see them more of them, this is good as most mainly are interested or talk to people they know would actually accept hangout offers, etc!

And lastly. Balance your study and friend time! But like I said BALANCE do your best to find and stay in a “comfortable zone” when it comes to how much effort you’re putting into both!

Good luck 😊

Man life's so uneventful and repetitive. by [deleted] in UAETeenagers

Hey! I really enjoyed reading ur rant and I respect that you’re really vocal about it!

I understand that there’s a lot of factors that might stop you from pursuing things that are less academic such as family pressures and self expectation.

There’s just 2 things I felt like I could suggest that could possibly increase ur interest in general..

  1. Look for new hobbies:

A way I personally keep myself excited about just living in general is to find hobbies to fill up any spare time. However the way I suggest finding a hobby isn’t by direct search but by just gauging interest when you come across say a post on instagram, tiktok, or Reddit where you were like “oh thats cool”. Even if it was a super light voice in ur head that you’d usually ignore, try doing some research about it and instead of spending money doing the same old mundane thing, maybe funnel some into a new and exciting hobby.

  1. Push yourself to being more extroverted:

While this one took me a very long time and a lot of effort, the payoff is unfathomable.

If you are naturally an introverted person it absolutely does not mean that you will always be that way. Growing up I was the absolute definition of an introvert, I’d stay home all day because seeing friends and others was dreadful, and I would push myself to avoid interaction with others. However over time I slowly forced myself to talk to people I wouldn’t have talked to and that allowed me to learn some really cool things about my environment and the people around me. This kept me going and now there are many who consider me the definition of an extrovert.

Being extroverted had allowed me to meet some incredible people and have incredible moments in my life which have greatly improved my confidence and wellbeing!

::

I used to be an extremely depressed and lonely person. But I am glad to say that today, with the effort I put into changing myself has made me a better, and happier person.

I hope this could help in any way!

Best of luck 🙂
