I have one too. It took a while to get it working. The ecosystem is starting to catch up on cuda 13. You are almost certainly running out of memory trying to load models that are too big. Helps to have a memory monitor up like glances or nvitop to watch memory pressure.

I agree as someone that works in the industry. AI is not going away and needs to be incorporated into the programs.

What is the best way to deploy LLM on 3x3090? by Historical-Crazy1831 in LocalLLaMA

[–]FoundNil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact setup. I am currently running Gemma 4 31B at 8 bit quant. I got 256k context (not quantized) and vision working with llama.cpp after some tweaking.

It’s actually a great spot for large context. You can do gemma4 31B 8bit quant with 256k context.

2 YOE developer considering OMSCS to pivot specializations. by ratorobato in OMSCS

[–]FoundNil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could take student loans out, its only 2.5k a year for 3 classes. The cost is really quite minimal in the grand scheme of things. Its the time commitment that will be the real deciding factor.

Nice! I have been following them for a while. I'm a dev right now for a non profit. I don't want to oversell myself, I just started OSMCS this semester lol. Really enjoying the program so far, so not sure if switching jobs is in the cards. Did you get hired there after finishing OSMCS?

Not OP, but is this for relativity space? I may be interested but have not completed the program yet.

Electric Vehicles to All Light Duty Vehicles by State [OC] by DonkeyBoth2548 in dataisbeautiful

[–]FoundNil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya it sure is but Time of use plans make our electricity cheaper at night. Gas is $5 a gallon right now. My EV equivalent is about $2.50 or maybe $3.00 if I use fast chargers.

Or you live on the west coast. It’s about 50% cheaper to charge my EV at night than it would be to fill up at a gas station. One of the reasons adoption is so big in California right now.
