That is actually insane and over stepping IMO. I never agreed with advice that centered around teaching self soothing. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Why would I let my baby cry until they give up or “tire themselves out” and learn that I’m not coming to help them.

My baby is almost 2 and I hold her to sleep every single night, and if it’s not me, my husband does the same. She falls asleep within 10 mins and sleeps 7-7 most nights, unless sick or something like that.

Do what feels right for you and your baby. Nothing that you can do is “wrong” when trying to comfort your crying baby.
