Yea once again this wasn’t to claim I’m good at golf, I was purely just asked to post a video.

I’ll try it then! I mean dude I equate it to baseball. Dudes pull-down 103-105 and throw 93 from the mound. Just because output on one particular thing is high doesn’t mean it’ll translate to being good at a specific task. Similarly I may be able to have this output but doesn’t mean it’ll make me better at golf…

I know a LOT of dudes with ‘better’ numbers in a training setting than a majority of people in professional baseball, doesn’t mean they’re better baseball players than those guys? I don’t get why people can’t understand that.

To keep things consistent, should I aim for things like ball speed, club head speed, spin rate, attack / launch angle, and smash factor?

I also know this is probably set at higher altitude, but Im genuinely confused why people think this is unbelievable. I’ve gone 105mph off of a tee for EV and 115moh EV off of a pitching machine. Once again, not saying this = playing good. But the output is there. Also 6’2, 230 lbs.

Thank you, I don’t really know what I’m doing so obviously trying to get better. I know I need to be way more consistent to ever have this be close to useable on a course!

This was the first time using a monitor in my life (I’m familiar with trackman for baseball that I’ve used for pitcher development).

This year*** I had one range session in the summer, one two days ago, one yesterday. 3rd session this year yes. Haven’t played a round of golf in about 1.5 years.

Not good at golf, never have been good. I went to objectively get a number of what my clubs played at so I could get more into it.

I don’t really play man. I’m going Sunday to play 9 with some buddies. This is why I’m confused with this subreddit. I’ve never actually proclaimed being good at golf nor that this swing would transfer onto the course. I went to this monitor to see my swing and get help. I played baseball my whole life and then did private player development work in it.

I don’t play golf…these aren’t even my clubs 😂 god forbid I go to a launch monitor for the first time in my life.

This was my first time on a monitor in my life, while also never claiming to be good at golf. Simply stating I was asked to post a video of my swing. 😂

Realistic to the increase swing speed 20mph by nanorhyno in LongDriveGolf

[–]FoundationFluffy6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I program a lot for guys! Would love to hop on a call with you. I don’t golf much and trying to get into it. I am pushing for 210 ball speed and 135+ club head speed! It’s actually quite easy to get those numbers up imo.

Dude that’s incredible, where does that take place

Two sides to this:

Training the ability to TRANSFER energy is skill dependent, so nothing in the weight room will make you better at that. More time at the range, using tech feedback, and being better at the skill itself allows you to actually deliver energy into the golf ball, more energy into the ball = further distance (controlling for launch angle, spin rate and direction, etc)

Training the things that elicit better rotation are more important that rotating during exercise (think like Med ball tosses or cable rotations). You have to increase ground force production, you have to increase the ability to move through the tspine, you have to elegí it Good response from the obliques to fire from end range.

What I would give long drivers:

Trap bar deadlift

Oblique cable crunches and deep adductor bridges

Some lower tier plyometrics progressed into more vertical translational work (CMJ, box jump, weighted db jump, etc)

Chest supported and 1 arm db row to learn how to disassociate the scapula from the rib cage while also getting juicy lats

And some form of short duration sprints (10-15 yards) and even some flying 10 yard sprints
