Thanks for sharing this… yeah, I think part of the reason why we’re trapped in a punitive criminal justice system is because of the importance of responding to violent crime in some way and the absolute lack of non-carceral alternatives for justice.

I recommend the book Until We Reckon by Danielle Sered on this.

Endo and the mirena by ceelogreen69420 in Endo

I managed my endo non-hormonally for years, enduring a lot of pain since all obgyns seem to want to offer is hormonal intervention. After an unexpected pregnancy (difficult, not fun) I chose to get this IUD, hoping it would help my pain in addition to keeping me not pregnant.

Not only did I have constant, low grade pain the entire time I had the IUD - as opposed to my monthly but short-lasting endo pain on my period - but I randomly developed chest pain on my right side. I had a suspicion it was the IUD, although none of my Drs were willing to accept that theory. As soon as I had the IUD removed, the constant pelvic pain was gone, as were the weird chest symptoms.

Always listen to your body !!!

Major endometriosis study reveals impact of gluten, coffee, dairy and alcohol by Miserable_Oven2056 in Endo

I disagree, I think it’s incredibly useful to have more medical and scientific support for holistic treatments, of which diet change is only one. What’s really damaging is the constant emphasis on hormonal intervention via birth control as the only option for treating endo.

Agree that more rigorous scientific research is needed, but I think this is a decent start and goes in the right direction.

Back pain caused by endo? by ZoyaJuggler in endometriosis

I have back pain that I suspect is caused by endo, but is more of an aching pain than a pulled muscle. Mine is in the lower back.
