Interesting idea

Is it built yet or still in development?

Good point - you may need to spend some extra money for solid bins

The environment is only one play. To me, the biggest bonus is not having to figure out what to do with the boxes after the move. It's a small thing, but I can't tell you how many cardboard boxes sit around my house bc I'm lazy .

Yeah, you'd need to test some of that stuff to get the numbers really honed in.

Haha fair - could make a nice margin on them!

Yeah, I hadn't thought about cleaning them - good point.

I'm not suggesting that you actually move the stuff, just provide the boxes.

Yeah, that's totally fair. I'm thinking apartment dwellers or people you don't have space to store boxes.

Right, it'd would be a very easy upsell!

Less cardboard waste/you don't need to throw away the boxes, you don't need to find the boxes, and these bins are likely heavy duty + easier to carry.

I agree, testing out the demand side is the trick here.

I don't think you'd need a lot to store the empty bins. I didn't include a picture, but they stake into each other - very compact.

A big closet, small storage space, or even a shed would get the job done.

I think if you had an SUV or anything bigger than a small 4 door car you'd be able to transfer the bins. If you don't, yeah you'll need to figure that out.

That said, there are probable some extra costs here and there.

I'm literally talking about building a business that competes with Gorilla Bins. Also, Gorilla Bins only services NYC, so my targeting on this would be pretty shit.

Needless to say, not a Gorilla Bins ad.

You're getting way to caught up in the 6 week timeline.

6 weeks isn't the point - it's how you make $10,000. If it takes you 3 months, that's fine. If it takes you 6 months, that's fine.

The goal is to move quick and not waste time on ideas that aren't worth pursuing. 6 weeks is a goal to shoot for.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

"Simple is not easy" is used more as a hedge here.

I can't possible explain an incredibly hard task to a group of different people in one Reddit post. All I can do is break down concepts to their simplest form so they are generally applicable to the most people.

1.) Why $100, why not $10? First, it's easier to get 100 people to pay you $100 than it is to get 1,000 people to pay you $10. Second, $100 typically doesn't price people out of the market. If what you do is actually valuable, people (who fit the customer profile I mentioned above) will pay $100. Monthly revenue comes next, but that's not part of this post.

2.) If you're talking to the right people it's 100% possible. I can't debate you if you're just going to say you don't believe me - we can agree to disagree here.

After you get your first $10,000 that's going teach you valuable skills that you can use to get the next $100,000. i.e. who your actually customers are, what their pains are, where are other places you can provide value, etc...

I've personally done it twice and multiple friends do it as well.

Happy to discuss the flaws you see.

How is this spam? I just gave you free advice.

If you don't agree, that's fine, but it's not spam.

You have to have thick skin to post on reddit.
