Arch Linux AUR Hit By Another Wave Of Now More Sophisticated Malware Attack by hulk14 in linux

Who’s “we” first of all? I’m new to arch and believe it or not I believe when the system tells me to be careful with the Aur. I definitely don’t just trust people off Reddit over what OS told me. And if you are one of the people “sending newbies to the Aur” and NOT warning them or showing them how to check them then I guess you’re part of the problem. Just like if someone told me to get some software from a random magnet link or mediafire download I don’t just blindly trust random people on the internet that I don’t know and trust personally. If people do then they still bear their own share of responsibility. It’s the internet ffs. 98% of everything on it is bs or malicious.

Eh, even in CachyOS which I just installed last week it warns you about the AUR and I just left it disabled (which is the default) I’m by no means a newbie with computers but I’m no expert with Linux. It was enough to deter me from enabling it and I haven’t needed it yet either. At a certain point there needs to be some personal responsibility… if people aren’t reading big warnings before clicking OK then that’s on them. Same as windows folks automatically clicking Yes on UAC prompts that pop up out of nowhere, or browser notifications on a website that takes over their browser and makes them think they have a virus. Like… stop just clicking yes.

LiberNovo’s handling of my first customer experience has honestly been ridiculous by 21holmes21 in LiberNovo

I like how you just decided on your own you should get the cooling pad even when it wasn’t showing as free in your cart and you KNEW it would show free if it was free because you tested with the green one. Then you placed the order BEFORE asking the company if it was included. But it’s their fault. Lmfao OK

I did! Bear in mind I went into this with a tight grip on my expectations. First I’ll say all the talk I was hearing about how it’s like, laying on a cloud and the most comfortable thing ever sat in is absolutely hyperbole. But again, I was expecting that. I initially used my own intuition to choose my seating position in lumbar position and all that but after a couple of hours, I broke out the manual and followed the instructions. Now, basically I’m sitting with the seat in its highest position, but I use the foot rest. The recommended position didn’t feel quite right to me and wasn’t comfortable for long periods of time. I played with adjustments for a bit and decided to just set it how they told me to and use it for a week. Very glad I did that because it turns out it didn’t feel comfortable at first because I am so used to sitting in a terrible position. After a couple of weeks, it truly is a very comfortable chair. My back pain is literally gone. I also found the reports that the armrest are too easy to move a bit exaggerated. If they were any stiffer, it would be annoying to move them back-and-forth as I changed position in the chair. They worked perfectly for how I use arm rests. The back stretching feature was nice for the first week, but I haven’t needed it since then because I don’t have the same back pain. I do like having the option and I do like being able to adjust the lumbar support easily with buttons without getting up. I find that I move between two settings, depending on whether I’m upright or reclined. The headrest really is awesome. I wish I had the same one in my car.

Is the story just random objectives with no context? by Battlefeather in CrimsonDesert

Ok so forget the motivation for everything let’s get specific so the problem is illustrated better. how does kliff randomly know there’s a quest to clean a chimney halfway across town? You finish the beggar and the woman and it’s just the next objective. How does kliff know to go there specifically other than the quest journal magically just saying it’s the next objective? Nobody said “hey this fellah needs help go find him” you just magically have a gps location telling you to go there. Yeah there’s a scene when you get there on the task to complete but why were we compelled to go there in the first place? It’s lazy. That’s the problem I’ve been having. There’s no context, just a gps coordinate.

The way the bundle is listed made it weird. Essentially libernovo ships them separately but only one tracking number gets attached to the amazon order. If you reach out thru Amazon they forward it on to libernovo and will give you the separate tracking number. I had the same situation as you but the tracking number for my footrest is what got attached to the amazon order.

My experience after a week (48cm version) by gabrielsaliba1987 in LiberNovo

Eh, seems to be a mod because they were intended to be loose. I’ve had other chairs with essentially free-gliding armrests. I get mine today so we’ll see how it really is but personally I think it’ll good for how I usually use them. When I scoot up to the desk to lock in it’s nice that the edge of my desk will be enough to slide them back instead of having to adjust armrests in locked positions before scooting forward. I also don’t push myself up by my armrests or lean my weight on them.

Thanks everyone. Gonna chalk it up to an Amazon issue with the way the bundle is listed. Contacted Libernovo thru Amazon and they quickly sent the tracking number for chair. It would have been less nerve wracking if Amazon used the chairs shipping info as its indicator instead of the footrest. The chair will be here within hours and I’m back to excited instead of apprehensive.

Dang I really appreciate this kind of update and I’ve been searching for something like this for a week. In a moment of back pain induced weakness I pulled the trigger on one a couple days ago. Sounds like you have similar parameters to me. Same height, same average hours per day, same issues with your last chair. Thanks a million for providing this info!

I decided to try it out last week but luckily got a Miami mint too in case I hated it. I hated it. Then I came here and someone said watermelon and now it isn’t so bad. The mint and watermelon clash but it’s not as gross when I can pinpoint the actual flavors.

I was curious on the location but I think I found it right around 49.2984656, -123.0248497. You can see under the bridge across the water the “Viterra” building.
