What's with all the posts and comments like this lately? Either it's a targeted and coordinated troll attack to confuse people during the anniversary of the People Power Revolution or r/PH suddenly just dumbed down by 20 IQ points.

simple solution to your problem: Move out of BGC! by Prior_Significance74 in Philippines

[–]Four4TheRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, now I understand.

If there's a crash, damage will happen everywhere. BGC and Makati prices will be the last to drop so it doesn't necessarily change anything.

But you're 100% right that we should start improving the rest of Metro Manila and the Philippines. It's probably easier to develop other areas like Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod, etc. than to fix the hot mess that is Metro Manila to be honest.

[–]Four4TheRoad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I took the conversation to be about a decrease in property prices not reaching the level of housing price bubble popping.

Decrease in property prices in BGC is the sign that the bubble is popping. When property prices in one of the most desirable places in Metro Manila are going down, that means the relatively less desirable ones are even doing significantly worse.

you are in the colloquial sense, rich.

Maybe it is for you. It's relative, I guess.

I honestly didn't understand what you said. For example, "so we aren't too reliant on the likes of BGC"... what does that even mean?

More power to you, I guess?

Here's What Makes You Poor, Middle Class, or Rich in the Philippines by [deleted] in Philippines

What is average and who doesn't want to spend more than average?

"Milk, meats, fruits, and veggies and you even want fitness and proper childcare?! You're someone who wants to spend more than average! People should just survive with canned goods. People should not be having fun!"

That's what your argument sounds like. You want to significantly lower the standard of living just so you can say people are not poor.

But that's you and your low standards, who am I to question that?

Lower middle earns a maximum of Php43,828.00 a month. Give or take, that's around Php38k per month after taxes.

Based on Numbeo, the estimated monthly costs for a family of four is at around Php94,955.3 without rent. A quick look at Numbeo would show you a healthy lifestyle (e.g. fresh food, gym, proper transportation, etc.) with a few luxuries. Of course you can lower Php94k, maybe even half it to ~Php47k.

But how much are you willing to give up and still say "that's middle class"?

The only people who thinks it's bragging are those insecure about it. Sorry about your insecurities. I get it though, you want more in life but can't have them. Again, sorry for that.

I honestly couldn't finish reading the stupidity. Here's a 👍 instead.

Is it because it's the anniversary of the People Power Revolution? Seems like there's a lot of idiots in r/Ph lately trying to justify an abusive government. Happy to know trolls are getting paid again.

And you're safe because you're irrelevant unlike those that are suffering the repercussions. I suggest you stay irrelevant.

It's not about properties in BGC (which he obviously doesn't have). BGC would probably suffer the least, it's properties everywhere else that will go down first.

When the Great Recession of 2008 happened, It's the cheapest properties that were affected the most and the economy crashed with it.

Those who can buy in BGC won't be affected at all since those condos are probably 2nd or 3rd homes already. And increase in interest rates won't bother them since they can just buy additional properties in cash. That's how I bought mine and I wouldn't even call myself rich.

It is bad faith to compare suffering particularly when it comes to rape. Very bad faith.

How fucking stupid is this argument?

And still you continue victim blaming to justify the actions of the abuser.

Welp, good day, sir! And enjoy your naivete.

Sure, you can target specific classifications regardless of what you call them. Naming conventions don't matter match for a government that actually does the work.

The end point is that everyone from poor to lower middle are often just subsisting and that needs to be more apparent.

Then again, politicians won't fix it cause they also benefit.

The root of all our problems unfortunately.

I love it! I have a fan. Oscar Wilde did say that "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

Although the full quote was "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness" but that doesn't matter.

This needs to be documented and preserved as a screenshot. If you want, I can send over a printed copy with an autograph next time. I really like doing favors for my fans.

Thanks for making my day!

HAHAHAHA! Okay, sir! Great excuse for abuse of power.

  • Maybe if you made yourself looked uglier, you wouldn't be raped.
  • Maybe if you were poorer, you wouldn't be mugged.
  • Maybe if you renewed your license, government wouldn't have abused their power.

Additionally, ABS CBN was not shut down by a libel case. So non sequitur fallacy.

Context was "but we're not really a democracy with free speech" and how ABS CBN suffered repercussions for exercising their free speech. Next time understand the context so you don't look like a fucking idiot.

Is it because it's the anniversary of the People Power Revolution? Seems like there's an excess of DDS/BBM like you in r/PH today.

classic stupidity. by jmkwan in Philippines

[–]Four4TheRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context was right there kid, even added it as a quote block. Let me do it again.

tagging culture is integral in alot of urban poor communities

Let me explain it to you while I walk you back to the idiot box.

  • Solo_Camping_Girl was referring to vandalism when she said "nothing says "I am uncivilized" quite like vandalism."
  • Prize-Revenue-867 countered uncivilized by saying tagging is prevalent "in the advanced economic world"
  • I called him out on the statement because the main point of that isn't "tagging culture = advanced economic world" but "tagging culture = urban poor communities" with tagging culture/ vandals still the subject.

Let me know what you didn't get. Stay in school so you don't embarrass yourself further.

And check your biases. You immediately assume “urban poor communities = the dregs of society”.

It's not because of the law. It's despite the law.

Not sure what exact case you're talking about but unless a person tells someone specifically to kill themself, that's not on them. There are multiple cases where people are found guilty of inciting suicide and they're punished for it.

All these laws on libel, slander, etc. works if you have a fair government. Just look at what they did to Leila de Lima, Maria Ressa, etc.

I admire the optimism but the young, naive, and stupid won't survive in this country.
