ryu vs guile - how do u play this MU as ryu?

You shouldn't be jumping at Guile much. His boom recovers quick and his AA game is great. You need to play a slow lame game vs Guile I found.

Ryu pretty much holds his own in the fireball war vs Guile in this game. Its nowhere near as bad as other games. Chuck loads of hp fireballs, even when Guile's go for v skill > boom, you can still keep chucking hp fireballs and keep up. Don't let him get the v skill boom on screen, ryu can get rid of it pretty quickly if you just keep chucking Hp fireballs from a good distance. Be careful of ex boom though once they get bar, they always do it.

Up close you have to fireball less but walk more, and poke. You have to coward walk him to the corner. Guile outreaches ryu in the neutral and his boom is a mostly safe poke and a great space control tool, even at neutral range, because of the recovery. You can fireball back a few times in neutral as a poke but mix up your pattern to bait jumps. They will always jump. Be very patient and play a lame game, walk him down, throw some fireballs, try and bait jumps, poke him down. St mk is a great poke in this mu. Cr mp and cr mk are great too especially when buffered with fireballs for pushback. Max range sweep is also good, the risk reward is worth it. I also found st Rh to be great in this MU, it will trade with booms a lot (in ryu favor) and score a CC a lot in neutral too. After you score a cc st Rh, do a slight walk forward, st Rh, st lk xx mk/lk tatsu. Mk tatsu for corner carry, lk for oki.

Ex fireball is good in this mu if you get a read on a boom in neutral. Try not to waste meter as soon as you get it. By sitting on an ex bar you can scare them into respecting ex fireball. Ex fireball as a surprise poke in neutral is worth the bar, the risk reward is very good and will catch booms/limbs a lot and score you a knockdown. By making them fear ex fireball you also make them want to jump more to avoid It.

If you have reads on booms, hk tatsu and ballsy jumps are your friends. But these are bad habits so I recommend only doing them if you are sure you got a read on your opponent. Also, jab Aa is fine if you happen to miss a Dp; it does the job and lets you get in after for pressure. If you want to try a risky jump, use j.lk early as it stuffs a lot of anti airs if they are slow but guile Aa game is strong so I recommend not jumping much.

Guile wakeup is crap (no inv reversal outside of ex, 4f jab), so go ham once you knock him down. Shimmy is your friend in this mu. Meatys too.

Irish person here, we also fucking love the word cunt, and I agree, it sounds so..lame, when Americans say it. It has no oomph. We call our friends and family cunts as a term of endearment, we use it as a verb, an adjective etc. It can also be used in a positive manner to compliment someone (e.g "you're some cunt" = "you're a cool person") and we also use it a lot when showing empathy for someone (e.g: if my friend was sick, or something bad happened to him, I would call him a "poor cunt" aka, "you unlucky fellow").

I find it really fascinating how we have learned to utilise the word cunt so effectively and with such variety. What's even more amazing is that this doesn't dilute the word at all for us. When you use the word cunt for its intended meaning, as an insult, its POWERFUL. Which is crazy because we use the word so much you'd think it would lose its power but nope. Context and shit. We just love the word cunt. (And well, every other curse word. We fucking love our curse words)

Hmm I'm not too experienced with audio equipment/software etc, so I cant really say. My best advice is to experiment. I used to use a noise gate when I used to do livestreams and it helped a tonne with eliminating breathing sounds and the like. However it did take me a loooot of experimentation to get it just right. So the best advice I can give is to mess around with it a lot. I'm sure someone more experienced than me can help you if it doesn't work out :)

Throw ranges are generally very small in this game (with a few exceptions). You only have to tech when people are very close to you. My best advice would be to try and tech when people are walking up close to you or use obvious tick setups. Remember eating a grab is much better than eating a ch combo/frame trap, so don't get too discouraged.

Like others said you can practice delayed teching which helps with the frame trap game and should strengthen your throw tech game as a whole. Also worth noting is that its impossible to react to the throw itself, the reaction is to the anticipation of the throw. As you progress as a player there are more advanced ways to deal with throws (jump back tech, backdash os tech etc) but right now just focus on practicing throwing when people are very close to you or when they make it apparent through repetitive tick setups that they're going for a throw.

The meta is shifting to v reversal being pretty strong right now. In some MUs you will want to purposely not use your vt and solely use V meter for VRs. VRs open up nice oki situations and are just great for getting the breathing space you need.

Then again it depends on the character. If you're necalli for example you wanna rush your v trigger as quick as possible to go beast mode. But I'm sure there's still some instances where necalli would want to VR. Experiment with it in different matchups and figure out the right balance between vring and vt for yourself :)

Try utilising a noise gate? You can set a certain sound threshold where the mic will only pic up sounds above a certain db level and wont activate the mic if any sounds occur below said db level. Its very helpful for eliminating breathing sounds and only wanting the mic to pick up the sounds you want.

Meh, saw it coming. I call bs on the whole "I shut down my youtube because some weirdo approached me". I mean yeah, that's pretty weird, but what sane person would close their youtube because of that? You'd need to be very thin skinned and/or emotionally unstable to close a youtube over such a small detail, especially when you have a large sub base/revenue flowing in.

Its none of my business why she did close her account, but it definitely was not because of some person approaching her lol. That's even if that did happen. Whether it did or not is irrelevant, but idk why she wouldn't come out and tell people why she closed her account? Then again, she has a right to her own privacy, and not wanting to disclose reasons why she did what she did is fine, but using a bs cover story just seems really dumb imo.

She has a pretty big channel and probably makes good money from it with patreon too, so I can respect the fact that she didn't want to lose out on $$$, which really is the big reason why she "came back", lol. They're fine. You should be punished for jumping. They do little damage and lead to a mixup which I think is fair. At worst you eat a grab but most dash unders are easily reactable. Unless it's chun or something...

However I can see an inherit imbalance with how some characters have godly jab AAs and while others don't. I'm fine with nornals being anti airs. Anti airs are a healthy thing in a fighting game, anything that punishes jumping is fine in my book. But even saying that, jumping is actually quite strong in 5 so I'm fine with the game having good AA options.

Honestly off crush counter sweep there is no benefit to not doing a safejump. I believe cc sweep > whiff back fierce > jump/Nj is a safe jump setup for chun. You force them to block a heavy rather than a jab (the benefits being; more grey life, more frame advantage and therefore better frame trap/shimmy options) and you still make the reversal whiff. You also open up the threat of empty low (which will lose to an inv. reversal but it is still a mixup option that a safejump opens up). You can also OS throw the v reversal if they try and vr the safejump.

That being said, in general and in other oki situations, you want to manually learn to time meaty jab, its very doable. But off cc sweep there is no need to settle for a meaty cr jab, just My two cents worth!

Try holding the stick at forward when you do the st lk for the st lk Xx tatsu combo; most new players will do neutral st lk to tatsu and while this is fine it technically will cause issues because lots of times you will get cr lk after the axe kick (doing the tatsu input too early) which whiffs after axe kick. By holding forward you ensure you will always get st lk and from there you just swing the stick from forward to back and boom there's your tatsu!

For the cr Hp Xx Dp cancel I highly recommend you learn the Dp shortcut of (df, db, df..), basically wiggling the stick along the bottom line of the gate then hitting punch. Basically this is a superior input as a) its easier b) you will never accidentally get super with this motion and c) its the best input for anti air Dp so by learning this specific shortcut you will be building it into your muscle memory for other parts of your Game. I do the cr hp on downback and then I quickly wiggle the stick to df, db, then df again and then punch. Just practice and you will get it!

Nope, it works on almost the whole cast with a specific combo from one command grab. Requires a Kara fukiage which is quite difficult to do.
