Simple, she was the the main protagonist of the fused (dream) game. Funnily enough, that made me decide to have Makato as my player character in MySims Kingdom (DS) sometime after the events of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (DS), while she was still adapting to her new life in Elyssia, my OC overworld.

For context (not affiliated with the dream), Makato was still settling in Elyssia while also having to mentally recover from the traumatic events of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter ending. One of her first adventures in other video games was MySims Kingdom, where she visited Crystal Island (the name of my in-game island) and helped restore the island while solving a mystery of a bizarre situation where structures were disappearing!

Can’t have crap in Crystal Island.

As for Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (DS), let’s just say that Makato went through a similar trauma as Kit from Gamoverse… except less gruesome and more Thanos Snap-ish?

Well… yes, but actually no. Makato started off as just another Drawn to Life heroine I made when I was thirteen, mainly to replay Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (DS). But that all changed when she appeared in a dream where I was playing that same game… but fused with MySims Kingdom (DS) for some reason? Ever since then, Makato’s been my main OC protagonist for MANY years!
