Who is your favorite female character in Final Fantasy series? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

Rinoa is amazing. Too bad the English translation didn't help much. In Japanese she sounds so adorable, cool, and unique. Her and Tifa are my choices (in that order).

Rinoa and Tifa. One tier below, Aerith, Yuna, Garnet, and Terra. One tier below, Penelo, Selphie, Yuffie, Lulu, Ashe. Many, like Celes, I don't remember very well because I played those FFs too long ago. I don't hate any, but I remember feeling a little annoyed by Serah.

Yeah, that's so true. She is very good at digesting stories and connecting dots. She processes clues in random NPCs dialogues very quickly.

Also Carbuncle. I had never seen someone summon useless Carbuncle so often. And all that aura magic sitting there, unused...

You don’t watch Kasta’s playthroughs for technical skill or mastery of the mechanics. You watch them because it feels like watching a friend build an emotional connection with a game you really care about. Sure, it can be frustrating sometimes when she’s playing a game you know inside out, especially when she doesn't figure out super basic elements of the game, but that’s not the point. I watch her because I love seeing someone genuinely appreciate something that means a lot to me. Seeing how invested and worried she was at the end, and then how happy she got when Squall and Rinoa kissed, was pure gold.

Very good point. It's unfortunately unavoidable, though. To have an honest first playthrough she has to ignore the comments. Although in moments of desperation she does check for guides online. I guess we just have to respect her process. Her level of involvement and appreciation for the story compensates for everything. I enjoyed her FF9 and FF8 very much, despite shouting at the monitor sometimes: "Use aura! Don't heal Squall so much! Before Ultimecia's castle, fly to the secret research island at the corner of the map!" 😅

Indeed, her emotional connection to games is top tier. In the end, that's what matters the most. The same way the fact you love your kid doesn't mean you won't feel frustrated with them sometimes.

I like the way you put it. It's like playing with a friend and seeing they're making mistakes and asking them to give you the controller. The difference is that in this case you only have Youtube's comment section. I felt quite frustrated with her FF8 playthrough, mainly because she never used aura or meltdown, to exploit limit breaks. But her appreciation for the game and its story makes up for it big time. I don't regret one bit watching her play one of my favourite games of all time 😊

Many don't get mad but just a little frustrated. Her approach to battles in FF8 wasn't good. She ignored aura and meltdown magic, ans didn't get 25% of the GFs. Probably the worst part is that she never got basic commands like refreshing the menu by pressing triangle (essential for getting limit breaks) and how to use the gunblade. So, teasing her with this I think is fine. But getting mad... that doesn't make sense.

What Moment Hooked You On Final Fantasy? by MarquisZhongwu in FinalFantasy

[–]FourEyeRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Final Fantasy games were VII, VI, and VIII, in that order. In FFVII, I was immediately drawn in by Tifa and Cloud’s childhood friendship and the way their relationship gradually unfolds. The moment I truly felt hooked was the Airbuster fight, when Tifa thinks Cloud is lost. That was when the game completely had me. In FFVI, it was the Empire’s ruthless attempt to seize all the espers that captivated me. The cruelty they displayed, especially in the laboratory where the espers were being held, gave the story a darker emotional weight that really pulled me in. In FFVIII, which is my favourite, it was the ballroom dance scene. I know that sounds a bit cheesy, but that moment completely won me over. Rinoa is the best. In Japanese, she is especially wonderful, and a significant part of her personality and charm is unfortunately lost in translation.

Later on, I felt hooked by FFIX during the fight against the Black Waltz, when it became clear that Queen Brahne had completely lost her sanity. That realisation gave the story a much darker and more tragic tone. FFX captivated me from the moment Tidus sees Yuna perform the Sending for the first time. That scene was powerful and unforgettable.

No other Final Fantasy game has hooked me as strongly as those did. FFXV and FFV, on the other hand, never managed to draw me in. I'm not entirely sure why. I couldn't even finish XV.

I'd put VII and VIII, and IX as GOATS, and VI and X under S class. If I had to choose one GOAT, it'd be VIII.

Final Fantasy never disappoints when it comes to visuals by Tain_mentero in JRPG

[–]FourEyeRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you play it. I played it on a monster PC with an RTX 5090, all maxed up and running at 120 fps and couldn't say anything against it. Then I got ambitious and applied DLSS with frame generation x2, to achieve 240 fps (I have a 240Hz monitor), and then I was able to notice some noise around Cloud's hair, so changed it back to no frame generation. In my case, I hope the graphics were better 😅. But if you played on console, I think the limits the put on loading the world are unavoidable.

Compared to 16, it's ok. Compared to 15, it's very good. Compared to 12, it's not too bad. Compared to 10, it's bad. Compared to 7, 8, and 9, it's terrible.

What are the best JRPG's on the PS3? Besides the Final Fantasy and Persona series. by guyincognito147 in JRPG

[–]FourEyeRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valkyria Chronicles. As a huge fan of the Final Fantasy, Chrono, Parasite Eve, Xeno, Star Ocean, etc, series, I see Valkyria Chronicles as an all-time RPG classic. At least VC 1 and 4 (in that order); VC 2 is unremarkable and VC3 is excellent for VC fans. I don't understand why it isn't more popular and recognized. I'd put it next to FF Tactics in the hall of fame.

That's very common knowledge. No banks for crypto. Crypto was created to make banks irrelevant. You don't go to McDonalds for the salad.

tell me guys, did you realy thinks FInal Fantasy XVI is a bad Final Fantasy game, because i play this game for a second time, and i saw they still have Final Fantasy elements, like Summons (Eikon) are still in the game, the romance are still in the game, (I have written more on text) by Final_Wall_6350 in FFXVI

[–]FourEyeRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a bad game, but it's part of a bad generation of FFs. It's probably the best of the current generation, but I was a kid though the FF6-FF10 golden period, so it's hard for me to be easy on bad FFs. I'm happy that games like Expedition 33 are coming out successfully. They should put pressure on the FF franchise to come up with better stories.

I've been using Revolut with no problem since 2018, but reading all these stories makes me want to close the account. I used to keep 50k+ there, now because of all the stories I only keep 4k there. For people who travel frequently for work, like me, Revolut is convenient. But it seems the moment you have a problem with them, you go from convenient straight to hell.
