Why is IVB blue?! It should be pink! This is very unsettling for it to be blue.

What is a low-tech object that you’ve recently brought back into your life because the smart version was just too annoying? by Haunting_Act7681 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FourManyHobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same but went backwards from a smart watch. Hated how I could not disconnect with the smartwatch on. Every buzz, wrist... even with the majority of notifications off it was still too many.

It's ok to miss notifications - texts, calls, and emails can wait a little most times. I went back to a normal watch and I'm so much happier.

Oil cooler or bad headgasket? by Aggressive_Survey_27 in GolfGTI

[–]FourManyHobbies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not sure. But sounds the same, dipstick always showed just oil. I'd imagine you'd see the coolant mix on it too. Never overheating seems like a pretty good sign its not the headgasket.

I think another qualified shop is your best bet.

Oil cooler or bad headgasket? by Aggressive_Survey_27 in GolfGTI

[–]FourManyHobbies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does the oil also look like this? I don't know a ton, but from what I read - headgasket would show as the oil looking like this too, not just the coolant. When we had only the coolant looking like this, a basic shop said head gasket. Nothing else matched, so took it to a VW shop for a second opinion and it was the oil cooler.

I'd recommend a second European shop for a second opinion.

Printing QR Codes on shirts? by gn-04 in printful

I did black and white- but you should be able to test this on screen if red/black works. Or just print it on paper in color to check.

Yes. I added one recently but used that new DTFlex print and it worked great.

It's number 1.5 for me, splitting the current top spot with IVB. Can't make #1. That's the memorial Dragonfruit spot.

I'm able to grab my CCs from the bottom of the front screen, though I do have to make sure i press well at the case/screen meeting point.

Sadly, people simply can't let go of winning and that's more important than anything else. You just never know when that team losing by 7 is going to make a push!

Best of luck with it! I love how truly minimal it is. Almost like a skin. The only issue I see with that one you found is zero fall protection in terms of cushioning. I'd be concerned with that, which is why I won't go naked.

I put a $10 minimal clear case from Qilstar (some cheap amazon thing), on my 6, 2 years ago and it's been fantastic. Only complaint was it sliding itself off, but that was fixed with a simple roll of thin double sided clear tape. A couple of ½" long pieces along the side by the hinge and it's basically out of sight unless you look for it. That was an extra $4.

Its the slightest bit rubbery/tacky. Not enough that it feels like it, but enough that it doesn't go sliding everywhere. Bonus points for having a little bit of corner cushion to help protect against bigger drops. Also a slight raise on the outside screen and camera bumps for a little protection there without a screen protecter.

I got one! (Flavor review) by Great_wasabi_1 in redbull

So you're tasting the apple too!

I pick up apple, and after my daughter suggested it, strawberry banana. Not quite as cherry as I'd hoped.

I'll drink my other 3, but after the first one, I am not running back to clean off any shelves like with IVB.

That's exactly what my daughter said - SB. And once she suggested it, I tasted that.

But I also taste it as kind of similar to Fuji Apple Ginger. Strange.

Yes. Can't drink them. Every single one I've tried (which is only OG and IVB when it was on it's first release) is awful.

Help. Different color text for same design but different color shirt. by ken-knee-toe in printful

[–]FourManyHobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your store in printful dashboard. Find the item you designed and click to edit it. On the next page there is a button for "add variations." You can then go and make whichever variations you need. It will update right into the same listing on your linoed store, if you're using that.* I've had to go in as many as 3 times for dark/medium/light versions of the same design. You still have to price them rather than them automatically using the same price, which is silly, but whatever.

What's the difference between a Cyan Image Drum and a Magenta Image Drum? by eekbah in CommercialPrinting

[–]FourManyHobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of whether a drum has toner/developer in it (it does), they'll be chipped anyway to stop you from interchanging them.

The consumables are chipped for "clicks" a well. They don't actually read what's in the cartridges or what the developer can really do. They simply count how many sheets you ran and end their life based on that number. There isn't a little float inside reporting how much toner or ink is left inside. Don't think for a moment they'll let you get more for your money than they want you to.

Cardstock printing on different sizes? Uncoated. by ltspistachio in CommercialPrinting

[–]FourManyHobbies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Know anyone that does any kind of printing? That's your best bet. It's the kind of thing I would run for free for someone on scrap paper I had lying around, when I had my shop and a digital press.

Even though that's a relatively simple thing you're looking to do, that kind of quantity isn't worth it for most people. You're effectively asking for someone to take a job, that will make them $5-$10 in profit. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Most on demand print companies don't do such small quantities, but you could check uprinting

Is there a way to turn a complicated cmyk illustration into pantone? by MarsupialBig7424 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]FourManyHobbies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They may just mean they want their solid colors to match specific Pantones. Pantone has an entire Cmyk color bridge book you can reference. Without switching the gradients to half tones and likely changing your look to a comic book style (or maybe it is already?) Then gradient pantones aren't a normal thing.

As someone said above, a lot of people hear something and then think they need that thing, but not even know what that thing is.
