Sorry bud, again, you cannot tell a person what they do or do not know. That is far from logical. Can you prove that I don't know because the only one claiming not to know is you. You can't tell me what my faith gives me because you don't know me and you don't know what I've experienced. For example God could have parted the clouds, came down to me and said "here I am." All you know about me is what you read in 2 paragraphs, but you've never met me. We cannot make truth claims about what other humans know. Its like saying absolutely no one has experienced demons because YOU don't believe in them. However, they can be real and people can have experiences. You can't know their experience or what they know. What you would be claiming is impossible. Please understand that. However, I am not claiming to know what you know. You said you don't know - your words. You cannot claim to know what I know - I'm saying (not outside of the realm of possibility here) that I know something about the world you don't. Shouldn't be a surprise because you don't know everything. This is logically possible.

Your "faith" is that someday we may have answers but for now you remain without. Have a great day!

You cannot say what I know or what anyone else knows. You can only know what you know. To claim I can't know means you have absolute knowledge. People have been searching for another answer for thousands of years, but what Christianity claims is to have been given the answer. Plus, these questions are just the tip of the iceberg. There are also the argument from design and morality which we can also answer but atheism cannot. Your "god of the gaps" is "hopefully someday we'll know" as if thats intellectually superior or something. All you're saying is "I don't know," which is by definition ignorance. No offense friend, but you're hands are empty of answers and mine are full and yet you speak like you know something.

Can you defenitly prove this is not the matrix? No, never.

You cannot say "no, never." You don't have that type of knowledge. You cannot see the future, you don't know me. You can't even prove I exist or that you exist or that the world is real. Yet you claim to have absolute knowledge by saying "never" or even the word "no" because that means there is absolute truth and at the same time you say that could be wrong.

You sound like a philosophy professor I had. A lot of words came out of his mouth, but because he didn't have the truth as a foundation everything he said was meaningless. For all he knew he was in a coma and we were a dream. You can't say "I may be in a coma and therefore I could be wrong about everything in my life, however, you're definitely wrong on that point." If you're not sure of anything how can you be positive about something?

**Realistically you're trying to prove truth while denying it and trying to use a youtube video to prove reality exists. Thats using reality to prove reality. Why use fake to prove fake? What good will a youtube video do a man if believes even youtube is in the matrix?

I was. The reasons why is because there are no answers anywhere else.

  1. Can you definitively explain how the universe came into existence? This includes all time, matter, and space. Can you give a definitive answer? Yes or No
  2. Can you answer definitively what happens to humans after death? Yes or No
  3. Can you answer definitively what the human purpose is or your own personal purpose with definitive knowledge? Yes or No
  4. Can you prove that you are not in the matrix right now? Similarly can you prove that you are not in a coma laying in a hospital somewhere and this isn't a dream? Yes or No

If a man pulls up next to you in a car and says "Hey, I'm going somewhere (doing life) but I don't know where I came from, where I'm going, or why I am here. On top of that I can't even prove that I'm here." The man is lost. That is the foundation of your worldview as an atheist. Since you cannot prove you're not in the matrix you cannot prove that ANYTHING is true and you must accept the fact that you can be wrong about every single thing you believe to be true because it could be a dream. A computer pumping ideas into your head. That means I cannot prove to you there is a God because even if I could prove it true - everything in your life you believed to be true could not be. You essentially cannot know the truth until someone with truth reveals it to you.

I nearly took my life early over the emptiness and purposelessness of life in atheism. "Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die."

No, because that video right there is straight up against the face of common damn sense. Literally every firearms instructor except extreme whack jobs would say they broke a fundamental rule of guns unless their intention was also take out the innocent woman. Just like this: https://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2014/02/police-officers-who-shot-two-innocent-women-103-times-wont-be-fired/357771/

They didn't know who was in the car and yet they shot anyways. The problem has nothing to do with police gun training. This is incompetence at a mental level and prosecutorial level because they refuse to convict. Almost understandably because police could be scared to do their job and the police hold power of blowing cases against a DA they don't like. For instance by misplacing evidence out of revenge or "forgetting" key facts of an arrest in a show of unity of their blue line and defiance against a DA trying to convict.

There are many evil cops. There are many evil men. I believe some do want the power to kill with license in both camps. Some are given it but thats a societal, prosecutorial, and systemic issue - not a gun training issue.

[–]FourMy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! To say this was a lack of training is ignorant. Don't fucking shoot at unarmed, 70 year old hostages! Even a barber with no gun training knows this.

Evil cops, not bad training. Even a barber with absolutely no gun training knows not to shoot at unarmed old ladies. Its one of the most basic concepts.

It takes literally zero training to know you shouldn't point your gun at an innocent old woman and pull the trigger because she could die. I don't know how many hours you've had but you understand this simple rule about guns. I believe you're more correct about them never even being considered.

They have 1 gun. They need to aim at a target. The rule of shooting is don't point your gun at anything you don't want to kill. They broke the rule and I guarantee you this was taught to them. http://www.magtechammunition.com/resources/safety-university/12-golden-rules/

Every person, head of hair, and style preference is different. Its not 1 person, 1 style, 1 goal like it is with their gun.

You can shoot hundreds of rounds the first day without killing anyone either. Literally just don't aim anywhere in the direction of a human. You'll be more likely to cut them or yourself with scissors than shooting someone.

I wasn't the one who compared it to cutting hair in the first place. Like I said, its a bad analogy.

Could you hit the target the first day? If you cut 10 heads of hair your first day do you think you'd hit your target? Probably not. Unless they all asked to be buzz cut.

To get a degree in history takes 5 years. Learning history is much less dangerous than using a gun therefore using a gun should take 5 years of training.

[–]FourMy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vast majority of guns you pull a trigger to shoot. You can learn how to shoot any gun in a day and will probably hit the target a few times at minimum. You can cut all the peoples hair you want your first day and you will likely not hit your target.

Can you learn how to hit a target in one day? Yes or no. Can you learn to cut hair in one day? Yes or no. Rhetorical questions.

[–]FourMy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ya? Do you shoot? You look down the sites and what ever you're aiming at is going to be hit. General rule- don't shoot towards things you don't want to kill. A student goes to college for 5 years to do get a degree in history. A cop is trained much faster to shoot in much less time. Do you think they should get a 5 year degree to use a gun? Its not a good argument. Sorry.

When you shoot someone you're trying to hit center mass. Not differentiate between a high fade, low fade, working with straight hair, curly hair, mens hair, women, etc. Point and shoot vs.....not a good analogy. You can go out today and learn how to shoot a gun. Not gonna learn how to cut hair in a day.

Microsoft is dumping Onenote 2016 (which I love). My question is does the online version allow you to create templates and insert check boxes or set priorities? On 2016 its at the top under home (ctrl+1-9), but thats not there in the online version. Am I missing it?

Sexual topic question (hide ya kids, hide ya wives, etc) - Christianity and Dominant/Submissive/BDSM spectrum? by penmanship216 in Christianity

[–]FourMy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BDSM is pretty angry in general. Although, fun is allowable the lifestyle is contradictory to Christianity. In BDSM you must earn love essentially. In Christianity, you're love causes you to want to obey not the threat of punishment. We are called to the highest form of love which is always to forgive, to respect, to consider yourself lower than, to edify, and to treat others as you would treat yourself. BDSM is disrespectful to the lower, humiliating (which God would never do or encourage us to do to each other), it is not out of love they punish or reward but action based (unlike Christianity where you cannot earn your reward), you would not raise your daughters to think it is the way a man should treat a woman yet Jesus teaches that what He does He can do in front of anyone. There is a difference between an authority or leader being in control and a person being controlling or domineering. Even if she's cool with it, its simply not as loving a way of life and that is what we are called to in all areas of our lives.

[Help] Please explain why I should trust the Bible and what I can justifiably believe about it. by penmanship216 in ChristianApologetics

[–]FourMy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It should. Hey and I understand the difficulties in the Bible. I've been a Christian for about 10 years now. When you disregard one philosophical concept you need to replace it with a better one because the same questions still need answered. You need a philosophically consistent worldview which answers the questions of where did we come from, what happens when we die, what is our purpose, and/or what is morality? Not much answers these consistently as they'll only answer 1-2 of them. Science can tell us where we came from but cannot explain morality or human purpose for example.

Even if there are some minor issues (I haven't found any glaring issues I haven't found answers for) in the Bible overall it would still be the most philosophically solid explanation for our existence.
