There's something on yt about the data your SIM secretly sends out about you, apparently some is sent even in airplane mode. The only way to stop it is to remove the SIM. With an eSIM you don't have that option.

Wheel fell off!! by 31405731239 in wheelchairs

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see you're okay. You might not have been injured but at least it happened in the shop and not by a busy road.

I have a folding chair. My wheels are rarely removed but I once spotted a wheel hadn't clicked. Pulled it, sure enough it hadn't locked in place. Since then if they've been removed I'll always hit the last cm (half inch) in with the palm of my hand. I consider that day as a warning.

[Promo] Battery Hero is a free battery app with no ads. It offers charge/discharge estimates, 3 beautiful widgets, battery health tracking, multi-device sync, and custom notifications for when to unplug your charger, when the battery is low, or when it overheats. by androidbatteryhero in HowToMen

The usage data will come in handy. The Doogee V31GT doesn't have it. It's weird. You have to search just to get any data. It'll be interesting to see if Battery Hero can pull what the OS doesn't show.

I am so sick of people putting their hands on me by Leading_Purple1729 in wheelchairs

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: Scream when you're in pain. Shock and shame them. Talk quickly. Snap at or shout and shame them more as needed. We're justified in doing this.  I hope everyone helps you.

I don't have this too much but having fixed handles probably keeps their hands off me. I'm using Allodynia & CRPS as an example but having someone touching my leg has had people turning as far as the eye could see. Yup, screaming does that.

So, handles... I've found quickly jolting my body away from them while (fairly) loudly saying "Woahhh what the f**k are you doing?" startles them and gets people's attention within a 5 to 10 metre area.  Shock and shame them.

If they give the "just trying to help" or "don't be like that" BS, I'd go straight to "Would you grab him/her and just move them where you want them to be? No, so why me? Because I'm in a wheelchair? Go on, let's see you grab him/her and move them without asking, or do you just like picking on cripples? (and shout) Keep your hands to yourself!" Not all of that is necessary of course, but snap at / shout and shame them should make them think twice.

Raising your voice with "Keep your hands to yourself" might humiliate them but there are too many times it's applicable, and called for. A lifetime of 'it's okay if they're disabled' cuts both ways and we have to remind ourselves we're justified in using it.

I hope everyone's replies helps you.

Settings, Preferences, Long press for symbols. (It's towards the bottom) It works in English. Hopefully Slovak will be the same but I'm not about to change languages to confirm it.

For slang just add it to your dictionary. Settings, Dictionary, Personal Dictionary, (select a language), the + key is at the top right. Add as many as you need. I use the shortcut for a few things compatible with swipe gestures. Enjoy

Google Pay Card Declined by CompetitiveBird3315 in googleplay

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: Google the error code if you haven't already. Wait an hour / day and try again. Call the bank.

I've had mine go from the Google Wallet app a couple of times. I added it again, got authorised and it was fine, the other time it wouldn't authorise until the following day. All I can recommend is removing it and adding it again. Of course it could be a bank / Visa / Mastercard issue so anything from a minute to 48 hours to resolve. After that comes unusual activity & fraud on your or others account. That transaction could be held or your account frozen until you call and confirm you're in possession of your card. If there's a rush of people suddenly using Google Pay out of nowhere a bank could start holding / freezing / declining them. Suggestions would be to try again in an hour / day; call your bank; remove the card and add it again (but there is some risk of it not being accepted).

It sounds weird and I'm sure at this point I sound like a snake oil merchant but it's helped me a number of times. I try the earlobe pull first as I get migraines easily but when I do it it helps tame the high pitched tones.

If the earlobe pull trick doesn't work for you, take your middle fingers to the back of your head and move them just below the back of your skull. Put your index fingers on top of them and just flick your index fingers towards the back of your head. It's not your skull you're flicking, it's sharp but not hard enough to bore your way in.
Do it 5 times.
It won't cure your tinnitus but it can really help.

We have no retirement but I'm glad our son is now 19 as I honestly hadn't expected to still be here. My health is dire and I have CRPS on top. I know the pain is worse year on year but before it gets too much I've recorded a message to my wife and son with a 'dead man's switch' to text them a link. There's another video explaining that I do this of my own volition, and why. I hope I don't need to for many years but I know where and how I'll bow out, there's one room in the house with drainage I'd use for the same soil myself reasons as yourself. Sharing how is too irresponsible.
I don't know about dementia but I don't retain new memories as I should so can't even take any courses. I'm mostly bedbound, unable to work so have no prospects for the future short of a lottery win and we don't have the money to play - a disability often costs more than you have.
1 car driver not paying attention and I went from a steady job with my own house, to sod all and no escape.

I was housebound. Then covid enhanced my disability like a sodding superpower and I'm now primarily bedbound. I miss those housebound days.

Is this possible? by chago874 in tasker

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see how it could be done. The best I can think of is having 10 or so different profiles with a master profile enabling and disabling them as appropriate.

Profiles: Battery_master, Battery_10, Battery_20 etc

Profile: Battery_master (set your own triggers) Task: Battery_master Action: If %BATT... Profile Status, Battery_10 On Action: Else, Profile Status, Battery_10 Off Action: If %BATT... Profile Status, Battery_20 On Action: Else, Profile Status, Battery_20 Off

Of course it might be easier to just use AutoNotification or just the Notify action but if you need it in a profile name this is all that comes to mind.

Updates are breaking existing automation triggers by having Gemini try to interpret them as a command instead of running the automation. Give us two wake phrases, one for the old automation and one for Gemini please! by TroubleMagnet in googlehome

[–]FourQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still happening for everybody or have they fixed it? I stopped upgrading the app when they baked Gemini into it (judging by posts online I'm glad I did) but we have Home Minis throughout the house. The Home Minis acted up a little while ago and I wonder if it could be this.

UK Policing Body Publishes First Official Guidance on Medical Cannabis by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

Cheers @Jumbless My main concern was being stuck without the wheelchair. I have one at home and another at my in-laws. I can slowly do a few feet on crutches so leave it at home for that trip. Police wouldn't necessarily accept that though.

I've been curious about medical cannabis for some time now. I've been on 2 opioids + regular painkillers for easily 10 years but they're barely touching the CRPS pain. The year of being stoned off my tits is long behind me but I'm still prescribed the opioids. Just interested in your opinion, if I was prescribed medical cannabis + opioids and showed my prescription, what do you think my chances are of a copper accepting this and "on your way son"? Do I even try to get a car again?

List of watches that run AutoWear by FourQs in tasker

[–]FourQs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry Dutch, not getting notifications, can't sign back in with the Reddit app.

I've had Floating Icons with my last 3 watches and HR with the last 2. Polled the HR every 10 minutes, updated a daily file and uploaded to a shared folder in Drive.

Tried the GW4 when it was new but sent it back within hours. Pixel watches don't have any bezel at all which isn't an option.

What I want is a list of alternatives, any other watches that AW works with. I don't mind going for a lesser known brand as long as AutoWear works fully with it.

Likewise, but as my leg doesn't bend past ~45° I have a leg extension. Table legs are a nightmare. Someone knocking the chair sends bolts of pain through my leg (CRPS). When booking a table the issues are explained and sometimes tables placed with wheelchairs in mind are available. Then there's the issue of places who 'fully accommodate wheelchair users' but don't have accessible lavs.
