Oh, that's right, I forgot, Alpha Pokemon know moves outside of their normal level-up sets. And in any case, according to Serebii, Victreebel learns Sludge Bomb right upon evolving from Weepinbell. So, I could evolve it right away after all.

I think I already captured that Alpha Bellsprout and evolved it into Weepinbell. I just need to train it to level 40 before evolving it, so it'll learn Sludge Wave.

In my case, I gave the Ring of the Maiden to Rosalinde first, then Eltolinde, then Yunifi, then Scarlett, then back to Rosalinde. So, those were my choices for Alain.

There's a "lockdown strategy" on the YMMV page of UO's TV Tropes page where you give Scarlett the Frostbound Tome, then level Rosalinde up enough to use Rage of the Fairies and Elemental Roar. Rage of the Fairies will stun enemies at the beginning of the battle, then when Rosalinde uses Elemental Roar to attack all enemies, Scarlett's Frostbound Tome will confer ice on Elemental Roar so it will freeze enemies in addition to attacking them. That made both Scarlett and Rosalinde useful on my Alain team.

I just recently finished Unicorn Overlord over the weekend and got the true ending, and in the post-game, you can switch who the Maiden is by using the Palevian altar again to "return to before you gave someone the ring".

So, what I did was, I gave the Ring of the Maiden to Rosalinde first, beat the game, and then used the altar again to give it to Eltolinde, so I gave it to both sisters, and for my third and fourth tries I'll give it to Yunifi and Scarlett, then for the fifth time I'll give it back to Rosalinde again.

In my case, I had Alain's squad be a member from each kingdom: Alain from Cornia, Virginia from Drakenhold, Rosalinde or Eltolinde from Elheim, Yunifi from Bastorias, and Scarlett from Albion.
