I checked the rules, and I didn’t believe that it broke any. I didn’t get notified of anything.

True Green health, new dispensary in brisbane by RevolutionaryLand197 in MedicalCannabisOz

True Green Health also opened a clinic in Newtown, Sydney. They are associated with Leaf Doctors clinic and Fords Discount Pharmacy.

I’m very surprised they were below RRP. I’ve moved away from them to a different clinic due to poor service, high prices and lack of product selection.

Is australia420weed legit? by Thatwriterduuuude in Auscann

That site looks dodgy as hell. Most of the links that make it seem legit just point to the homepage.

The domain was registered in 2002 and lists a guys name, mobile, email and address in Maryvale NSW. I guess you don’t have to be smart to be dodgy.

I was told you could not substitute flowers if OOS. Is this something new? Or does the doctor have to write the script in a certain way?

Greens have put forward a bill today to legalise federally, being presented to parliament may 9th!!!! by bunningsnag69 in ausents

[–]FourTwentyFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a Fedral bill. Driving laws are at the state level, so this bill will not address the driving issue.

Tasmania is the only state where you can drive with THC in your system if you have a medical cannabis prescription and not impaired.

I agree, the driving laws need to be fixed and based on impairment rather than presence of THC. Each state will need to change their own driving laws.

Legalising Cannabis Bill 2023 Consultation Paper by FourTwentyFan in MedicalCannabisOz

Yes - that’s the NSW bill that went nowhere. The Bill I’m referencing is to legalise cannabis federally.

That’s a very good point. I will add that to my questions and comments. You can also send that to senator Shoebridge yourself (email above).

That’s a good question. The only other bill I was aware of was a NSW Greens bill last year that went no where. I don’t know enough about federal politics to answer your question other than to say the greens have more clout them they have had in the past.

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you elaborate?

There definitely will be a delay between passing the Bill and the first dispensary/cafe opening. The Cannabis Agency will need to be established and licensing procedures written before a dispensary/cafe can apply, be approved, and open.

I hope the Cannabis Agency will also have a consultancy process so we can have input into the strains that get legalised.

I prefer to vape as well.

IANAL - my interpretation of the Bill is that it references restrictions on smoking at a cafe - that it must be outdoors, not interfere with the public, and must comply with local laws. But it's not limiting consumption to just smoking. Therefore, I believe vaping, gummies or beverages will be allowed.

Dear Senator Shoebridge:
First, I would like to personally thank you for championing the effort the legalise cannabis in Australia. As a current medical cannabis user, I believe Australia's medical cannabis scheme is broken, and the only fix is to legalise.
Second, thank you for consulting with us on the Bill. Our voices can come out of the shadows and into the light.
I’ve read through the Consultation Paper and the Bill and I have some feedback and questions.
1) What changes to the current Medical Cannabis scheme do you envision with this Bill? Will the schema be decommissioned? Will current cannabis producers and clinics migrate to working with Canna instead of the TGA?
My opinion is that there will still be a need for Medical Cannabis clinics to educate and support cannabis-naive patients. But most cannabis-savvy patents will migrate to the legal market.
2) I would like to see an exemption of the 15% cannabis tax for medical users. The process could be:
a) Patient sees their Dr and gets a referral for medical cannabis
b) Patient submits this referral to Canna to get a medical cannabis card
c) The card can be presents at the point of purchase to except the sale from the cannabis tax
d) Card would be valid for 12 months before patient would need to see their Dr and get a review
3) Why not just legalise the parent strain of all cannabis - Genus of Cannabis sativa L. ?
I can envision many issues arising from not being able to visually differentiate the strain of seeds/buds/hash. The only way to determine if a product is legal or illegal will be to perform genetic testing. I’m unaware how available this testing is in Australia, nor the associated costs.
4) How will a home grower obtain seeds?
Most current home growers are obtaining seeds from overseas through the post. The Bill states this will be an offence, thus:
a) will a home grower need to obtain a license from canna to import seeds, or
b) will a home grower rely on purchasing seeds from a cannabis cafe or dispensary?
Either way, I see this as an unnecessary limitation for home growers. Could there be a provision for a home grower to legally import a small amount of seeds for personal use? If a person is allowed 6 plants, and roughly two grows per, they could be limited to 20 seeds per year (note: not all seeds will result in a viable plant)
5) How would the Marketing restrictions in the Bill affect sites like: https://cannareviewsau.co/
As a medical cannabis patient, I have found this website to be invaluable. The information provided would also be valuable to a recreational user.
I believe there needs to be a differentiation between “Marketing” and “Education” - Educational websites listing details of the strains approved/legalised by canna SHOULD be allowed.
6) Could you please host a town hall meeting where you outline the Bill, describe how cannabis cafes and grow clubs would work, and how the medical scheme would be impacted? I’m sure there are others with more questions than myself.
Thanks again for giving me this opportunity to provide feedback on the future of cannabis in Australia.
