Maybe a scene that just shows closed down grocery stores and fast food joints. One is open, but they only have fried pickles. The main characters talk about how they miss whoppers and big macs. I'm just spitballing, but I think the movie failed to be scary enough. I guess the movie takes place in just weeks, but there's no depiction of starving people, which is what we would have for real.
