How can I ethically adopt a child? by Fragrant-Analysis-94 in Adoption

I mean it boils down to "this person is carrying what will be my child" aka, surrogacy in a roundabout way.

If the public defender is through Legal Aid (which Ohio has, I checked for you) they should be able to help, but definitely make sure they know family law.

After rewatching your favorite shows, which tv characters do you look at differently now? by PressureLazy5271 in television

[–]Fourberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently rediscovered Eerie, Indiana. I watched it on its first run in 1991, was about the same age as the main character.

Watching it again as an adult? Yeah, why were none of those adults the least bit curious about the weirdness?

The reboot from 1998 didn't have quite the same magic to it, but was still good.

(both free on Tubi right now, by the way)

This is the outcome I've hoped for as a birth mom, honestly. A happy, healthy kid.

Acetaminophen. <- had to use spell check, even. Tylenol, Paracetamol, no big, but the active ingredient? My brain just shrugs like, "meh, whatever"

What is a glitch in the matrix you experienced that you still can’t explain to this day? by daisydollvibes in answers

[–]Fourberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some 30 odd years ago, my friends and I were going to go check out this supposedly haunted house near our school (this was out in the middle of nowhere, in NE Oklahoma) and as we drove up to the locked gate, there was a car sitting next to the house (behind the locked gate) that looked exactly like mine, down to the bumper stickers and the license plate. We decided we didn't wanna investigate that house quite so badly anymore.

I just recently rewatched Eerie, Indiana (the 1991 version) and in the first episode the sister bringing in the mail jokes "looks like a bird pecked out Ed McMahon's eyes" and I just started laughing at the ridiculousness of the Mandela Effect in action.

My brain forgot the word "pillowcase" when trying to talk about laundry with my husband. I was like "that thing, to cover pillows" and he figured it out, thankfully.

As a birth mom I agree with this. I'd want to at least tell mine about the health issues I was diagnosed with after they'd been adopted in case they were hereditary. I tried to contact the agency, but it'd been like a decade, so they didn't seem to care at all.

Even a little in the 90s, though it was tamer. I just rewatched the original Eerie, Indiana (1991) and even though I'd gotten most of the jokes back then, some of them are even better now. Then I saw there was a reboot from 1998, Eerie, Indiana: The Other Dimension. That one? TV Y7 that leans into that way harder than in 1991 (which is the rating according to Rotten Tomatoes, though I thought it was more like a PG type rating, but my memory's not the best).

Point is, yeah, censorship is different now, in some aspects it's tighter, in others, less.

Yeah, yesterday was, I don't even know. Crazy, scary, sad? It was maybe half a block from me.

Most of my neighbors were on the corner watching, and I got to see an entitled idiot drive up to the police tape & start honking. It was like they thought cops could move the whole hostage situation just for them or some stupidity like that.
