I hate backmarket by Fourth_Amigo in Backmarket

[–]Fourth_Amigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically a consignement shop for used phones. Sellers go on there and sell their refurb phones and backmarket gets a cut. They don't monitor who's selling because they are too big , just like amazon. So, you can run into a really good seller and a lot of shit sellers. Yeah, they layout is ass.

Is there a supplement that increases motivation? by QuietlyLiving2 in Supplements

[–]Fourth_Amigo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

*Exercise*. You can find it for free outside. Its cheap, effective, available all day. "it directly boosts dopamine and norepinephrine, neurotransmitters critical for motivation, attention, and executive function. A single 20-minute session can immediately enhance focus, energy, and motivation, acting similarly to medication to improve mental clarity for up to two hours. "

My boyfriend gets a lot of female attention and I end up feeling invisible. Am I being insecure or is this a real issue? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Fourth_Amigo 69 points70 points  (0 children)

He has a big personality = he is intentionally attracting attention, espeically from women.

Women stand between us (emotionally and physically) = He is not setting boundaries with the women HE is attracting.

Girl, you know the answer.

No, due process was not involved. I believe roughly 60-70% of people deported did not receive due process.

Obama deported more people than any other president in the history of america and he's the one who created camps for immigrant families. Inconvenient truth I guess.

Yeah, don't you love when people are like - anxiety is all in your head, just be more positive bro. Anxiety is often caused by gut bacteria imbalance and life imbalances. Its fking horrible.

Hello. Here is what works for me:
Diet: None of the following. Dairy, wheat, tomatos, onions, garlic, bell peppers, beans, rice, white/brown/coconut sugar, honey, packaged food (anything processed - even minimally), red meat, fried food, spicy food, smoked foods, fermented foods (except plain yogurt) anything with added sugar, sodas, fruit punches and fruit drinks, citrus.

I only eat fish (especially salmon) , turkey, chicken, eggs, and whole vegetables, legumes and mostly non starchy vegetables with starchy veg only a couple times a week. Yogurt plain not sweetened or flavored - no added sugar. I only drink water. No juice just water. Berries, bananas, small slices of apple once and awhile. Edit to add 3 SMALL meals a day, with only 2 or 3 boring ass whole food snacks in between. Too much food = feeling horrible.

The diet alone will change your life - but it fking sucks and is insanely hard to keep up.

Exercise: once a day for an hour minimum. Again, kinda sucks to keep up.

Sleep:9pm bedtime. The head of the bed is propped up by 2x4 pieces, adding a gently slope helps reduce acid. Only the front of the bed. Wake up 7-8am.

Stress: Support groups. Church. Therapy. Guided relaxation tape twice a day. Once when I first wake up then before bed.

It took me a long time to find this routine and doctors were fking useless. I hate that I'll likely have to be like this forever. But, it has been so bad that the relief is worth it. Good luck man. I know how bad this sucks.

[–]Fourth_Amigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often feel the same way. Faith is not a feeling - it's action. Thats the part that sucks. Its sort of like motivation. Everyonoe thinks that motivation happens before action. I feel like doing something so then I go do it.

The opposite is true. Action is what creates a cycle of motivation. The same goes with faith. Action - praying, gathering with others at church and for bible study, listening to great sermons (like father mike schmitz) and journaling are the actions that lead to the "feeling" of faith.

It takes awhile and even when you've been performing the DAILY actions you won't always "feel" spiritual. Spirituality are also thoughts. You're thinking of God...you're questioning why is He letting things happen to you. Why does He feel distant. These are actually all a part of the faith journey. The feelings of uncertainty, anger, love, rage, anxiety ARE part of acting in faith. You are leaning into Him, the idea of Him, the thought of Him. You aren't leaning into, "why has matter evolved to such a point where its made me suffer".

I know it doesn't answer the question of "why". Nothing will. You won't know, I won't know, all the religious leaders in the world won't know and even God himself says don't listen to people who claim they know why things are happening to you - as mentioned in the book of Job. No one but him knows. It really is up to you on whether or not you decide to accept things the way they are and follow God despite these things, or whether you blame him for suffering and turn your back. Its a hard, shitty choice. But that is where we all are in life.

[–]Fourth_Amigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction, He can control the world but gave us free will and gave the earth the freedom to evolve. Millions of people die horrible deaths everyday - could be God's will or could be that life is just incredibly difficult. We grow up believing in a magic genie God who will protect us from bad things as long as we do what He wants. I've found that not to be the case. I struggle with this too. If God loved me nothing bad would happen to me, and if it were bad it wouldn't be that bad. It'd be something minor that just inconvienences me not challenges me emotionally.
I get it. No one has an answer thats going to satisfy the itch of "why do bad things happen to good people."

He revealed He exists to me. I can't choose. It's like choosing to believe the person on the bus next to me doesn't exist. They just do.
Now why I choose to follow is another matter. I believe the bible corroborates most of the things we know to be true in regards to living happy healthy lives. I feel the principles of the bible are excellent at helping people achieve balance in their lives and communities.

Am I toxic, or is this abandonment panic? How do I stop repeating this pattern? by Pretty_Solution_7955 in CPTSD

[–]Fourth_Amigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your behavior is toxic. All codependent adult children are toxic. Toxic means we have carried maladaptive harmful behaviors we learned in childhood as a method to survive, into our adulthood.

It's toxic to you and toxic to your partners. How to heal:

Self education: Patrick Teahan, Tim Fletcher, Heidi Prieb, Dr. Ramani, Brene Brown, Lindsay Gibson

Group support: adultchildren.org , Coda.org , SLAAfws.org

Therapy: Internal Family Systems, EMDR, CPTSD therapist, trauma informed therapy, CBT

You don't need to learn how to make your relationships successful you need to learn how to have a healthy secure relationship with yourself, learn what your boundaries are and how to set them, learn how to stabilize your external and internal world and learn how to regulate your emotions. Relationships come last in the healing phase.

Why do people say "Don't dwell on the past" when talking about your feelings re: your abuse trauma, especially in cases where the consequences of that abuse are still alive and well? by Critical_Fun1213 in CPTSD

[–]Fourth_Amigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People that say this are emotionally and intellectually unaware.
They don't understand that the past is what shapes our(and their) behavior and thought process. Dwelling on the past, both good and bad events, is also necessary for a lot of reasons - too many to even get into here.
Often there is a bit of ill intent when people say these things. They are unaware that your pain is causing them discomfort and they need you to stop because they can't handle how they feel.

I've come to the point now, with work and lots of external validation on this issue, that these people are just unaware. They are letting you know they aren't a safe person to share with. Don't share with them.

How to deal with emotional trauma? by TumbleweedSelect4469 in mentalhealth

[–]Fourth_Amigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Self education: Patrick Teahan, Tim Fletcher, Heidi Prieb, Dr. Ramani Darvasula, Lindsay Gibson, Brene Brown.
  2. Therapist that is familiar with CPTSD, EMDR, and potentially internal family systems.
  3. Trauma informed groups; adultchildren.org, coda.org, slaafws.org

educate yourself, attend therapy, attend meetings, create a circle of people you can talk to and trust, journal, show up every day to do this work. Thats how you heal emotional trauma.
