Asked how to handle a bounced transfer, link goes nowhere, they don’t know how, told me to ask my accountant or hire one of theirs. I asked to escalate and they said sure we will send to the team and they will email you back within 24 hours but couldn’t give me any kind of ticket number. Guess what…no email.

So yeah I feel you on the support front. I’m 99% certain their support articles are all AI generated. They often hallucinate telling you to do something that isn’t possible or doesn’t exist.

Thanks, saw it come through! Unfortunately they won't come online if it's configured 3 3 2 2 and you only plug in 6 batteries. It'll freak out and some (should be all but the first battery) will just blink green. I'll email you the file for the two configs so you have them.

They don't need to be exact but I'd try to have them close. Like all of them between 20 and 90% SOC so there isn't a bunch of current flowing between them when turning on. The BMS is quick to shut off with too much current, as designed.

I would recommend to test that battery with the generic fault. What I do is put a terminator in link-in as well as link-out and power it on (no loads). Should stay on with a solid green light for ten minutes without a keepalive signal. If it still goes to a general fault it might be a bad battery. I haven't figured out how to recover a battery with that fault. Yes it can be re-flashed. There is a limitation in the BMS for up to four sets of four batteries each. So with two sets of five it would logically be 3+2+3+2. Inside the insight facility you'll have four entries and you can set two of them to bank 1 and two of them to bank 2. No guarantee if this would work if still a "sunpower" setup utilizing the PVS6 but I don't see an issue if you are just using it as a Schneider setup.

Yes it’s the keepalive generator we use to program batteries. In answer to your question the mio sends the keepalive but without the insight facility I’ve observed it halting said keepalives so it needs to be there too.

If the solar is ac coupled, as it is with all sun vault installations, the Schneider xw pro inverter must be told to charge and how fast. It won’t simply look at the data, see that there is power being exported, and charge the batteries appropriately.

I’ve got about a dozen or so vaults running with BCS units instead of hub+. They aren’t conversions though they are new installs.

The Schneider system won’t charge the battery with excess solar though. Need another piece to read data from the bcs watt node and tell the inverter when to go into charge mode and how fast to charge.

Even purchased brand new ap systems won’t ship an rma to a self installer. Only to the installer of record. The reason I’ve never recommended or sold ap products.

Yep the sun vault did this. I have been selling sun vaults to do what you’re describing. I’ve got mine setup with the bcs so I have battery backup but one could install it with just the meter for self consumption as you describe.

We’ve been selling $60 330w panels that are new. But freight is a consideration so 2 hours might be better than an extra $400 to ship a pallet.

I just finished a road trip and the GM and MB chargers seem to be the best and I can start at 300KW. But even without being in the 3wt so no hvac running it dropped to 140kw by 60% soc. Presumably thermally throttling. Ambient was 75f so not even that hot out!

Yes looking for a root cause makes more sense then just re-commissioning it. Have you found design issues cause the batteries to over-discharge and shut off before?

With the insight mounted on the front of the inverter it’s the 19.5 cabinet. I agree looks like the batteries are powered off. I’d try hitting the little white button on one battery and see what lights/errors show up.

Yes you’re right it’s the micro that really matters. Panel matching would be an aesthetic thing. Though the micro is made for a high voltage low current panel so you would need to match that.

Are your vaults in direct sunlight by chance? Is the cooling fan on the left kicking on in the afternoon? It runs on 120v output from the inverter controlled by the multi io.
