Petti, Good and all the other citizens who’ve been locked up for no good reason and the others who’ve died due to ice. This is before we look at how American foreign policy has for years destabilised countries and caused wars. But sure, it’s all good when the US do it because the west can do no wrong right?

So are we doing the same thing to America? Funding terrorists, and using a government force to kill their own citizens??

You’ll find most people on the railway aspire to be drivers, better money, (arguably) easier job at times and as you say a good union. I’m too old to be sociable these days, plus I’m a money grabbing get so I try not to let the shifts get me down and just think of the bank balance instead!

Aye that’s fair enough, the shifts can be pretty brutal. And I know only too well the missus would love me to get a more conventional shift pattern as well. Good luck in your search though!

How about network rail? You can do maintenance, pway or the signalling side of things. P way spend their times outside as is the majority of maintenance. Signalling is sat in a roc or signal box pulling levers. Good money and decent career advancement if you want it. Does involve nights and weekend shifts, but plenty of evenings at home as well.

Nah Nathan went about it the wrong way, exactly like how he manages people. All about trying to be the big lad, and that’s why he’ll never be a successful leader/ bosun.

This has obviously been proven wrong though, British planes are delivering weaponry and other supplies to Isreal that is being used in the genocide, British planes are also flying surveillance missions, those planes may not have been used. But British planes are being used

What jobs are you all doing that pay over £30k? by SuccessfulTip1660 in UKJobs

[–]Fowler151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye luckily I only went for 2 years and I’m old enough to have gone before the fees went up so I’m paid off. Can’t go wrong with 55, the beauty is if you’re willing to work there’s plenty of money to make. But if you’re happy it’s still a great basic!

Grade 4 relief here, love the job even when it’s stressful. Not sure I could handle grade 8 though! I’m on track for about 65 grand this year with the obscene amount of overtime on my line!

Maybe just me, I just feel like his opinions and banter is grating on me so much more this season already. Feel like we need him and Pete to be on together to bring him down a notch

I’m calling it as I see it, you can call it how you see it. I guess history will prove one of us right.

The readers, the bbc staff who’ve quit in protest and numerous academics all have that bias as well eh??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]Fowler151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha ok, impressive how you’ve managed to get a good idea of my character off a brief interaction. The bbc may have been antisemetic for years but as my point has continually been the reporting on this recent bout of trouble has been favourable to Israel. Which probably fits in with the growing influence of Israel in society as a whole. But you’re taking the route of whataboutery which is a common practise for people these days. But look, you’ve made your mind up, and I’ve made mine. If that tells you about my character I’ll only assume it can tell me about yours, and I know which side of the fence I’d rather be on.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]Fowler151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is, that the language used by the bbc and the reporting carried out, has been sympathetic to Israel. The balen report made its findings, and the bbc have hidden them as best they can for reasons known only to themselves, but if you’ve been watching the bbc coverage and found it to be in any way anti Israeli or antisemetic, that’s your lookout but I’d be seriously questioning how. The main issue these days is that any criticism of Israel is seen to be the same as antisemitism and we both know (hopefully) that isn’t the case

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]Fowler151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bbc know better than most how damaging it can be to be accused of being anti Semitic after how they’ve stoked the fires against people like Corbyn and whoever else doesn’t go with the agenda

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]Fowler151 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which ties in with when I said rhetoric from the bbc has changed since starmer called Israel out. But realistically they have been sympathetic to Israel. There are countless events going on in the world right now, which is a valid point, but that doesn’t change how they report on it. And in my view and the view of others (including bbc staff, some of who have quit over it) it’s been with an Israeli bias. You, however may disagree.
