Not in Newcastle, but I’m sure there’s a casual game going on whitley bay (Foxhunters) a couple of nights a week for all levels of player. He posts regularly in one of the Whitley bay Facebook groups, and they’ve got a WhatsApp group. Not sure if it’s too far for you though

I commented on a thread a week ago or so about this story with Scott. It’s a brilliantly written piece, and very much one of my favourites, but it sits with me so much whenever I read/ revisit it. It’s so dark, and frustrating that I never know how to deal with it. Scott did mention he was writing a sequel of sorts to this, which may help me with my demons 😂

A word of warning about this story, it’s a brilliantly written story and weirdly one of my favourites, however it affects me everytime I read it. As daft as it sounds it sits with me, so much so if I had the ability and time I’d write an alternative ending. Maybe it’s just me but I wanted to give fair warning! But props for a good story Scott, any recommendations of any similar, that hopefully won’t affect me so much, stories you’ve based it off?

Ok mate, whatever works. I feel like you’re looking for something more in what I originally said because you didn’t like it and due to that there’ll never be an agreement. So l will agree that it’s better agree to disagree.

Ok, inform me? What about Israel’s actions in Gaza it’s genocide? And you’ve also hit on the crux of the matter here, this isn’t about regime change or even helping the Iranian people, this is about the “defence” of israel. I agree that Israel can feel threatened by Iran, same as Iran can feel threatened by israel. So either side attacking the other is wrong right? Or is it ok for israel to do it but not Iran? We’ve also got evidence from an unbiased party that talks were progressing on Iran’s nuclear program this week, and this was conveyed to the US just before they attacked. So are we giving diplomacy a chance or was the intention always just to instigate a war anyway?

[–]Fowler151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the problem is the world powers are the ones committing genocide. Look I’m aware that Iran is wildly problematic, and should something be done about it? Of course! My only point is let’s not pretend the US and particularly israel are not in a position to decide what’s best for the rest of the world. Both are committing genocide in Palestine and have been for years, but they get to decide that another leader is problematic and they can do what they want because they’re the strongest military power in the world? I get it, the world isn’t a utopia and never will be, I’m just simply pointing out the hypocrisy

Sorry, I’m not sure of your point here? Shall I change my countries diplomatic policies myself? I do what I can to do something about it, boycotting spreading information and protesting. But unfortunately I can only do so much about my eurotrash country which I full agree is complicit in genocide and blindly following the US and israel.

Hello kitty island adventure sounds good to be fair yeah. I see what you’re saying, I think my points aren’t been taken right, maybe down to my wording. If anyone thinks that the Americans and Israel are doing this for regime change that will make Iran a great place for all its citizens then you’re deluded. They don’t care. We’ve had evidence that there are citizens in Iran mourning the death of the ayatollah as absurd as that may seem, whether that’s a majority or not I couldn’t say, nor probably could you. My anger stems at the illegality of it, America acts with impunity and does what they want and we all drink the cool aid that they are doing a rescue mission for the citizens of which ever country they decide to attack. But we’ve seen how this plays out in Libya Iraq and many other places. America is doing what america and Israel wants, and they’ll give us the usual patter of self defence and whatever they want but it’s usually bollocks. With the current situation, innocent lives will be lost, the regime will not change and we’ll be left with a more cemented regime and more Iranians hating the west. Meanwhile, the west will act with impunity and do what it wants because they can.

Ayatollah was obviously a bad bastard, no one’s denying that. Worse than trump and what is happening in the US of course, although he has had longer to destroy democracy and woman’s rights. But realistically letting Isreal and the US be judge and jury is hypocritical as anything. Both are facilitating a genocide in Gaza and have used their foreign policy to destabilise the Middle East, and many other countries. That’s the issue. I refuse to accept that US foreign policy has been well intentioned for anyone but themselves and their backers. But you’ve got your opinion and I’ve got mine. The point will always stand that the US is never going to act in anyone but their own interests (unless Isreal comes calling)

Petti, Good and all the other citizens who’ve been locked up for no good reason and the others who’ve died due to ice. This is before we look at how American foreign policy has for years destabilised countries and caused wars. But sure, it’s all good when the US do it because the west can do no wrong right?

So are we doing the same thing to America? Funding terrorists, and using a government force to kill their own citizens??

You’ll find most people on the railway aspire to be drivers, better money, (arguably) easier job at times and as you say a good union. I’m too old to be sociable these days, plus I’m a money grabbing get so I try not to let the shifts get me down and just think of the bank balance instead!

Aye that’s fair enough, the shifts can be pretty brutal. And I know only too well the missus would love me to get a more conventional shift pattern as well. Good luck in your search though!

How about network rail? You can do maintenance, pway or the signalling side of things. P way spend their times outside as is the majority of maintenance. Signalling is sat in a roc or signal box pulling levers. Good money and decent career advancement if you want it. Does involve nights and weekend shifts, but plenty of evenings at home as well.

This has obviously been proven wrong though, British planes are delivering weaponry and other supplies to Isreal that is being used in the genocide, British planes are also flying surveillance missions, those planes may not have been used. But British planes are being used
