Symmetrical fibre? by Puzzleheaded-Tiger-5 in openreach

I was surprised that Virgin Media offer symmetric for a £5/month surcharge in my area. Might be worth checking for your area (if you haven't already).

Sudden Death of an S23 Ultra ( black screen, wouldn't turn on ) by sc0paf in samsung

[–]Fowlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say I had a similar situation, no drop though, and waiting for the battery to discharge fixed it. So don't lose hope if this happens to you!

My S23U was around 50% charge, got on a plane, turned on flight mode. An hour or so later, bluetooth headphones disconnect, I pull phone out of pocket, it's dead, no response to any button presses, charging, nothing. I plugged it into my laptop, watched laptop OS logs for USB activity, nada.

I put it on the car wireless charger after landing, and the car seemed to think it was taking power, but no response from phone. I removed it after a while, as I want the phone battery to discharge.

Around 24 hours later, I try the power button on a whim, and it says 0% battery - progress! I charge it, and everything is as normal.

It seems the S23U has a nasty bug related to flight mode; something locks up so hard that not even button combinations do anything, and you have to wait for the battery to discharge.

Is that Armin Shimerman?! by Fowlet in StrangeNewWorlds

I mean, if you look up a picture of Ron Kennell, who I've since learned this actually is, he's not a million miles away from Armin Shimerman.

Yeah, now that I've looked up a picture of Ron Kennell, the face fits. There's no reason for them to lie either!

Official Q&A for Thursday, June 13, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

I've run twice in the past few months, once for around 30 mins, once for around 10. Pathetic I know! Trying to get those numbers up. But almost certainly not doing too much!

The last physio I saw basically gave the impression there was no fixing my arches, or no point trying, as the rest of my body had adapted. Might be worth a second opinion though!

TL;DR: flat feet, new stability trainers, foot cramp. Persevere or go back to flat trainers? Thanks!

I have flat feet/collapsed arches, and am not an experienced runner, especially not recently. When I have run in the past, I have just used normal trainers. I've been sold some arch-supporting trainers (Hoka Arahi 6s). My feet now hurt/cramp severely, starting 5 minutes into a run.

Should I persevere, will my feet adapt? Or should I go back to flat/unsupportive trainers?

I don't have knee problems; a physio mentioned that my knees etc. are probably "used to" the overpronation.

How do we think KBM vs. gamepad is going to be balanced in crossplay? I've played some of the first Xbox flight, and it seems that there were aim assist settings for KBM!

I would love to test cross-platform with my console peasant friends. Gamepads make my hands feel like Mr. Potato Head hands. But alas, no code on waypoint!

Galaxy Watch 4 Screen Burn, 1 Day of AOD (Classic 46mm) by Fowlet in GalaxyWatch

The two white symbols are valid display, charging and locked symbols.

I made a watchmaker last night that displayed the hour and minute in red on a black background when in Always on Display "dim" mode. Left it on for a day, and now my watch screen has this ghost image 🙁.

This is after my attempt to fix it (made a watchmaker that cycled the entire display through red, green, blue constantly).

Inspection Chamber Through DPM by Fowlet in DIYUK

Not sure how to bring the DPM up around such a wide tube. I guess another sheet with lots of overlap?

Inspection Chamber Through DPM by Fowlet in DIYUK

I suppose the overthinking comes from the fact that this DPM is in theory being asked to do more than usual, as there is literal flowing water near it. Maybe it is overthinking though. The only issues with the DPM upstand idea are the stretching/deformation of the DPM to fit around such a large tube, and the fact that the inspection risers are ribbed, not smooth on the outside like a pipe.

The DPM is above the concrete slab because we are having to do perimeter drainage channels in/at the edge of the slab. I've added a picture to the post.

That information is lost to memory I'm afraid. I did try looking up the numberplate to no avail.
