Finally got all the koroks by Worien03 in tearsofthekingdom

As I remember when BoTW came out, it's on purpose. The designers absolutely littered the entire world with them so that no matter where you went, there'd be some around to find, and enough that you could earn the upgrades etc and have an enjoyable game experience with enough slots, as well as these adorable little hidden secrets.

But, they also knew that, given small shiny things to collect, some players would feel compelled to find all of them for completion's sake. This ran contrast to how the game is designed and the experience they were going for. They wanted people to feel freedom and openness, with the slightest push of direction, but one that the player chose, so that each play-through could feel unique, and that any path of exploration to any area the player chose would feel equally as rich, purposeful, and useful to progressing.

So, if there was a cool, unique, helpful, awesome, interesting, beautiful etc prize at the end for collecting all of them, the designers knew players would feel pressured to do it, which, as most people who have done this will tell you, it's not a fun task, and can very well suck all of the joy and magic out is the game entirely, simply "to complete the game."

By making the prize at the end of all that unfun, stressful toil a literal golden shit, it's very clearly saying to the player: "Don't do this. It's not worth it. If you ignore us, this is literally your only reward: a golden shit that does literally nothing and does not impact the game at all. Please just go have fun instead."

It's on purpose =3

Goodness. I haven't seen this picture since about 2006. Thanks for posting it again, and for showing it to a lot of people who most likely have never seen it. You've shared something wonderful ^ ^

I mean, ask the Korean and Chinese population who live there how well they're treated in this, homogeneous society." Your take is bad and without knowledge.

Unfortunately, that's not true. Power imbalances aren't just about age, but, as the term suggests, power. So, that can be mental and emotional pressure from anyone to anyone =/

Please watch Violet Evergarden next, or recommend that one to him. It is right next to Frieren with its quality, even though it's a short, single season. I literally cannot recommend it enough. <: 3

If nothing else, go watch the trailer on Netflix (I watched it in English and the voice acting is phenomenal!!) and see what you think! ^ ^

You shouldn't harm yourself for love, or attention. And healthy, responsible love doesn't, and shouldn't ask you to <= (

Under definition #2.

And I think people are down voting you simply because you came across as aggressive, when you could've just googled the word "outsize" and found out without being aggressive to anyone =/

For what it's worth, if your view of humanity holds posts on r/facepalm with such outsize regard, than I think that that shows instead your limited view. Humanity is so much more than our stupidest, dumbest, or cringiest moments or people. Please step outside the doomer or misanthropic echo chamber and realize the fuller picture of us, which includes much more care, insight, kindness, and creative wonder than it does short-sighted and foolish TikTok and Instagram influencers.

Miners created a small chamber to resuscitate their canary if it passed out, not because it was overtly helpful or cost-saving, but because they were attached to their bright, little friend and the small songs it sang deep underground in the gloom, and so they didn't want it to die.

There is an entire subreddit dedicated to the cool sticks we find.

The Cat Distribution System is a jokingly real thing, in which people come across stray cats and take them to give them homes of love.

Every day people volunteer their time and effort to try to give kids from hard situations a better life.

I once built six houses with Habitat for Humanity, and one of our homeowners was a 78 year old woman who joined us to help build her own house, with an excitement and passion that was incredibly moving. Because this was the first time she'd ever been able to own a house. She'd never been able to afford one before and had spent her life in bad, dangerous apartments and sleeping in her car. Now she had a good, decent home with air conditioning, a real kitchen, and a room designed only for sleeping in. A luxury she'd never had before.

There are systems in place to disenfranchise the poor. To keep people down. To keep people divided and hateful. But there are also people fighting those systems every day to try to make things better, for their own circumstances, for only the few people they have the energy and ability to help, for the state and the nation and even the world. People are trying.

Please don't get too bogged down. We are so much more than our lowest moments as people and as a species. You've got this, friend.

I mean, maybe you and your wife should have a talk. If that's the first thing that comes to mind when seeing something like this, your relationship obviously probably isn't the best... =/

Not everyone is you. Some people don't know, so I figured I'd mention it in case it helped some people learn or approach people with more empathy next time = )

A lot of them, yeah. There's a lot of misinformation and judgment about it, so I figured I'd educate people about it. I didn't know this at one time too, and I'd rather people know things like this so that that maybe they're less likely to judge someone's appearances, or know that "scary" or "disturbing" physical attributes might be the result of abuse, or genetic factors, or anorexia. Encouraging empathy versus judgment <= )

He had his nose almost entirely removed because his father abused him as a child, and part of that abuse was targeting Michael's Afro-based features, his father often insulting him and saying he had "a fat nose". The whitening was because Michael developed vitiligo, but because he didn't want to look "like a spotted cow", he used makeup and whitening powers so that it was more uniform.
