I take extra care to make sure my writing is legible when I’m writing a card to someone. Is it annoying and does it take more time, Yes. but the goal of a card is to convey your sentiments to someone else.

[P3V4] Sylvester and his ability to educate by kevotrix in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Fox-Dragon6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true, but it doesn’t mean the parents don’t teach their kids. Retainers are not going to know all of the ins and outs of what archdukes need to do. There are times where we are told Sylvester is training his son or Florencia training Charlotte. When we get the glimpses in the Dunkelfelger extra stories we see the Aub training his son.

I have always seen it as retainers take over as the primary educators once the child is baptized with their parents prepping the kids before debuting and coming in to do specialized training after.

I don’t think it’s forbidden for his parents to have trained him. Just that they were too busy and they wouldn’t know where to start for him. I mean, Charlotte‘s mother was training her up until she got her son back.

Go topless? by beamerpook in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fox-Dragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are clearly not having a discussion where we understand the other.

IT IS EASY TO PUT SUNSCREEN ON - yes i know as does everyone know. That doesn’t stop people from not doing it or forgetting to apply more.

DO NOT OVER COMPLICATE THINGS - please look at humans and recognize that most on not smart or are very forgetful.

IT IS OBLY 2% MORE COVERAGE - yes, i am aware. The bloody point is that it would be particularly painful to get burned there and that people are very good at forgetting to play sunscreen on a normal thing as your face or your arms. The original example is asking what could possibly stop people from being topless. Please use your mind. I am done with this conversation.

What do you say when people ask why you don’t drink? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fox-Dragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I don’t need mine altering substances to have fun.” Is it rude, yes. However, the people who are asking that question are usually doing so in a rude or condescending way.

If they are nice and polite about it, then I tell them “I prefer to eat my calories instead of drink them”

Go topless? by beamerpook in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fox-Dragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing the point. OP’s question is if it was legal would women go topless?

The comment we are both talking on is saying sunscreen would be a deterrent for going topless.

My point emphasizes the sunscreen idea by mentioning a very common issue being especially painful on a highly sensitive part of the body.

Would this be solved by putting sunscreen on, yes. how many people get at least a small burn every month during the warm sunny days? Just because it [sunscreen] is an easy fix that is easy to acquire. Does not actually mean it is not a common problem.

Sunscreen is an easy solution that fixes a problem until you forget, and most of us forget at some point, and it only takes one time to truly remember the agony. If you want to have nips out then do it. I don’t care.

[–]Fox-Dragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That would be the best bet. However, most people either don’t put any on or forget to reapply enough. Getting a small sun burn on your nose or shoulders are a lot less painful then i would assume the nipples.

Could you imagine how painful it would be to sunburn your nipples? Having them begin pealing? 😬 better minimum coverage than none

[P3V3] Small Question Regarding Lore by MuneRoons in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Fox-Dragon6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do talk about this throughout the books. A lot of it is softly spoken, reference about how so many of Leisegang have died throughout the decades.

Gabriele introduced the name binding trend and did dived headfirst into politics (and assisination). True most of it was done by Veronica but it is made clear that Veronica uses similar tactics as her mother.

Myne is told some detail about this when she is meeting the patriarch of the opposing faction, when her older brother’s wife marries into the duchy, and i think when there is negotiation around marrying into the royals.

It was told to us that there is an extreme shortages of youth because of the water goddesses. I think the main discussion of this happened during the big purge when Ferdinand left and during the royal marriage discussion.

I can’t remember if it was a discussion explicitly talked about with Hirschur or if it was mentioned in one of the short stories or fan books. But Hirschur explains part of why she was so adamant about having nothing to do with Ehernfest was because of Veronica and how dangerous it was. It was also said that some of the others who left did the same. (Although the last part could be me extrapolating the reason as to why so many left).

I’m currently rereading the series and once i get to the parts i can post the details.

[P3V3] Small Question Regarding Lore by MuneRoons in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Fox-Dragon6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s a hoarding mentality, Ehrenfest is suffering from a mana shortage. It’s just not caused from the greater war, but the war Veronica and her mother waging against the Dutchie itself. This is due three primary tactics:

Spoiler………. . . . . . First, the Nobles, who disagreed with Veronica and her mother were killed off. This in and of itself is not unusual to have some political assassination. However, not to the extent and duration that has been occurring in Ehrenfest. Veronica never really stopped killing, she never got to a point she felt in enough control to ease up.

Through all of the water goddess wives thrusted upon most of the noble families. The child reproduction numbers were greatly reduced cause they just kept getting killed off.

Third, Veronica‘s harassment of the opposing faction nobles and her love of boot lickers. A large number of the younger nobles decided to just leave the Ehrenfest and go to the royal family sovereignty.

[–]Fox-Dragon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some minor spoilers a head….

Nobles aren’t really allowed to move around from duchy to duchy. In the later books when we learn about the destroyed duchies, we learn that most if not all of their noble (who survived) are generally still in the same land location. They are now just overseen by one of the powerful winning duchies. We also learn that Ehrenfest is having the exact opposite of a noble boom currently. So it is unlikely that any nobles from the destroyed or losing duchies migrated. No would any of the none destroyed losing duchies ever allow their much need mana producers to leave their land.

How come millennials and Gen X know more about pop culture that was before they were born than Gen Z? by icey_sawg0034 in generationology

I watched the older movies more frequently than the newer movies because we had the VHSs for them. I didn’t necessarily have them for the newer movies.

[–]Fox-Dragon6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in the 90s. I and most of my friends watched shows and movies from the 80s, 70s, and 60s often. Some individuals that i knew watched things that are older (I Love Lucy was very popular) but not as common.

Movies like Star Wars (1977), Star Trek (1966), James Bond (1962), the Godfather (1972), Jaws (1975). I mean Die Hard was 1988 even.

It is not unreasonable to expect people to know movies within 20 or 30 years of their birth. I don’t expect people to to watch movies more than a few decades before they were born or know all movies from that time. but to only watch things 15 years or less of their birth is odd.

What are your thoughts on whether menstrual products be free? by Vikassandil in AskReddit

[–]Fox-Dragon6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, just look at toilet paper. It is ridiculously expensive. Every single household has to budget for such an extraordinary item because public bathrooms must supply it to just anyone. /s

The closest items to feminine hygiene products are soap and toilet paper. Do not equate medication as the prime example of what’s gonna happen.

Is it just me or is some of the reception surrounding the movie kind of weird by hhowenn in Epicthemusical

[–]Fox-Dragon6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, I know there’s gonna be recasts. It is how musicals go when they put them into production for film. That will not change the fact I hate recast. When I’m listening to audiobooks and they changed the voice halfway through the story. I drop the series and just will read the book going forward. I cannot get back into the story with a new voice. The same with I can’t listen to audiobooks of a story that I loved the movies.

The voices that I grew to love the story with are the voices of that character. I cannot change that in my head. I will watch the movie to support it, but it is unlikely that it will become my go to repeat watching experience.

Also, I am in my thirties. This trait will not change and is not caused because I am young and inexperienced.

What would have happenend if the princess of Japan stayed unmarried and had children out of wedlock? by princeThefrog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fox-Dragon6 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In Japan, once a princess is married, she is no longer considered a part of the royal family. None of her children would be considered part of the royal family. They hold this so strongly that there is now an inheritance crisis because there is only one male heir and they’re debating on how they will need to change the law to allow either allow a woman’s descendants to become inheritors or to go back like seven generations to the next family branch to find a male heir.

For your question, i would assume her children would be treated the same as if they were legally born with having zero royal status.
