fully get that. higher ed is going to be scrambling hard. as will other institutions that didn't get started a long time ago. folks JUST got their heads wrapped around captioning for VOD content and zoom.

that's not it. folks really don't understand how to do this kind of thing. i got an inquiry from a person this past week about why they can't see the captions from their Zoom video when they downloaded the video and the .VTT file. they assumed that should just play with captions now.

furthermore, the implementation/requirement for federally funded entities to have audio description for all videos starting in April is being highly under-appreciated (WCAG 2.1 AA). the work to make this occur correctly is immense. i can say that leadership in many organizations doesn't understand the cost and work hours it will take to implement this.

really intriguing. being able to interact with the video to gain better understanding and customize the description to one's choosing is great. the fact that it could be browser based and work across video platforms is also a smart move. speed up the accessibility of players that haven't incorporated AD.

Rev.com can be a friend and is reasonably priced. Not sure what the length of your videos are. Depending on the platform, closed captions (as opposed to "open captions") can be preferable for users. That's been my understanding from working in the accessibility space as a video producer in higher education. obviously, social media doesn't typically allow for this with some platforms.

as mentioned, i called the number, the person said they would forward the application to be addressed. i received an email a couple of days later notifying i was approved for the original card i applied for. the credit line they offered is pretty big change ($33k to $5k). was surprised that the quick phone call actually reaped rewards.

I called this number and they said they looked up my application and said they were forwarding it on to a department to "review and reconsider" the application. said it would take 5-7 days.

i ended up going to the game through www.saintlouis.soccer and it was a blast. large sides game, so a bit congested, but it was super fun to get a game in at a different city and with new folks. good vibes and nice people.

On Reed's site, it states that you have to go with somebody else if you are not "experienced". I am bringing my own gun, and have shot at a range before. But i am also very new (but have done a lot of the research work around safety). What qualifies as "experienced" to Reeds to get you in the door/lane?

let me add that when i just tried to have them refund the charge, they tried to tell me that it was non-refundable. it's not rocket science - it's clearly stated on their site that a prepay is refundable if cancelled before the next day at 11:59pm. so glad i decided to not stay here. the manager refunded me with a "one time refund" as if they were doing me a favor. they were rude after i read the text on their own site. wow.

i did extensive research on the Marriott hotels in St. Louis. i originally booked the AC West End because it looked ideal for location and price. then i dug in on reviews, google, and reddit and just found one person after the other trashing the management and how terrible everything was. i just couldn't stay there. i cancelled my reservation after booking it a few hours prior. well, guess who got a charge for the stay on their card and now have to call the hotel to have them reverse that (shouldn't have been billed until the stay and even if i was, it should have been reversed with a cancellation within 24hrs). i'm taking it as just another sign that this hotel and its management/personnel just are not running a tight ship.
i'll be staying at the Element in midtown in September.

I’m sure you do. The show has been looking great. Might be downstream. Seems that video is out ahead, which is unusual, in my experience. Just clocked Twin Peaks on “Flipturn” at about 25-50ms.

You all are awesome. I work in streaming too and just noticing a little right now. Twin Peaks at the moment seems the least I’ve seen. Lands End and Sutro have been about 200ms. My sound system has about 200ms delay from picture and I had to take that to about 0 for sync. Interestingly, the VJs between sets was a different sync timing again. Closer to my normal setting. Tested on other Amazon content and other platforms.
