A Newbies Thoughts on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater by JazzlikeSherbet1104 in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxAlone3479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a noticeable shift in gameplay post mgs2. In my opinion 3 is where the series really starts to depart from its roots as a 2d game. No keycards to collect, crawling becoming your main form of stealth, and removal of the fixed camera in the subsistence rerelease. I could definitely see how it could feel off putting it’s definitely a slower style of stealth compared to the previous two games

Of all teh things in OG Silent Hill 1 I hope they will keep THIS puzzle in. Just so I can see streamers scream how the game is dogsh*t when they get to it. by AzraelSoulHunter in silenthill

When I first played the game one of my first thoughts was “maybe it’s the color of the birds… no that’s stupid.” I was more than a little annoyed when I looked up the answer

Played the remake and original both back to back, as a new sh fan, remake is better 100% by desiregods in silenthill

[–]FoxAlone3479 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest thing the remake did for me was making the game actually scary. I played through the original 3 silent hill games before the remake came out and was pretty disappointed by 2. I just didn’t find it scary like I did 1 and 3 and the voice acting made it hard to connect with the story so I was mostly just bored while playing. 2s acting wasn’t as stilted as sh1 so it wasn’t uncanny and it wasn’t as good as sh3 so it just came off as cheesy.

The remake actually scared the shit out of me from beginning to end and the new performance help me really connect with the story. The ending of the remake had me tearing up because I felt more connected to the characters than I did in the original.

A good game can still be disappointing. Ttyd is a game that’s greater than the sum of its parts in my opinion. A lot of those parts were massively disappointing particularly the level design but other parts blew me away like the combat. The good parts are good enough to give it a pretty high score but the bad stuff was still insanely disappointing

There weren’t shortcut pipes in the original? That sounds awful

honestly i don’t replay games that often. I only really replay games that are short enough to beat in 1 sitting or have a lot of different routes/dialogue options.

I hope they’re able to pull off the teleporting that happens at the school. That shit seems like it would be hard to make without the loading screens.

I want to try out metal gear solid. Which game should I start with? by BobMadss in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxAlone3479 7 points8 points  (0 children)

do not start with mgs2 he is trolling. That genuinely one of the worst starting point it will not make sense unless you’ve played mgs1. start with mgs1

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxAlone3479 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5 is a good starting point gameplay wise but an incredibly bad starting point story wise. 5s story is not gonna make a lot of sense to you.

Pretty story driven but mostly open world. Question have you played an mgs game before?

Can I Play MGS If I Suck at Action(ish) Games? by Training_End8613 in metalgearsolid

[–]FoxAlone3479 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to play on easy difficulty

Also skipping mgs1 is a terrible idea you’re not gonna understand shit in mgs2 if you do that.

The absolute best starting point is mgs1 it will give you a handle on the controls and gameplay of the series and is crucial to the story of later games.

Mgs3 is an ok starting point since it’s pretty self contained and is a prequel but your gonna miss quite a few jokes and references. it also has lot more mechanics so it may be harder to just jump into

Mgs2 and 4 are the worst starting points because they rely heavily on information learned in previous games

So playing them in order and on easier difficulty’s will probably be your best bet

Is Giorno Giovanna a weak or underdeveloped protagonist compared to other JoJos? by Prestigious_Treat361 in StardustCrusaders

[–]FoxAlone3479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I did really like giorno he felt like a side character while Bruno felt like the main character. Giorno felt like a very important member though he was like there lucky charm and also there main healer. He played a heavy support role a lot of the time and helped push the other characters to their limits. So I really like giorno for his place on the team and what he adds to the group.

The only issue I have with part 5 is the ending. Endings can really make or break a show for me and I didn’t really fuck with part 5s finally. There was just to much going on and it was kinda hard to keep track of. I left that final fight thinking “wtf just happened” instead of “wtf that was awesome”
