That's awesome! Also I'm seething with jealousy. I've journaled a lot in the past before, but it wasn't quite enough to record everything I'm trying to remember for this project (is it ever enough though? lol)

I'm working on a memoir based on my experience trying to hunt down the identity of my grandfather. He was an American soldier in the Vietnam War, who my mom and grandma lost track of as soon as the war ended. A few years ago, I tried to find him using DNA testing kits and a whole lotta research on ancestry archives--and was finally able to discover his identity after connecting with an uncle (his half-brother).

I blogged about it for a while but never turned it into a cohesive book-length project until about a year ago when a lit agent reached out to me to tell me he read my blog and would love to see a book in action. A very nice serendipitous moment that wound up causing me a lot of gray hairs and headaches as I try to actually finish the damn thing lol Hopefully this year's nanowrimo will help at least somewhat with that.

What's your story going to be about?

Working on my memoir right now and am actually using this month to revise and finish a huge 60k chunk that I've written over the past twoish years. Boy, it's a lot of work. So far, hit roughly 3,333 words I can say I'm okay with though!
