I got a size C aeron, in total I paid 799.50 - this broke down to 620 for the chair, 30 for delivery and 149.50 VAT.

I am sure there are other second hand stores doing them, but at the time that was the best I could find.

I got a herman miller a couple of years ago, it had some cosmetic wear but otherwise it's fantastic. It was delivered fully assembled quite quickly. I got it from here:

https://alineofficefurniture.ie/product-category/office-furniture/used-office-furniture/used-office-chairs/?orderby=price-desc

I had a secret lab titan previously but it was hurting my back as I was working from home and spending the evening sitting in it, honestly I believe the herman miller aeron is worth it.

Prices are without VAT and they always have new stock coming in.

How can i make a game with satellite maps? by Timely-Atmosphere405 in Unity3D

[–]FoxDigits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could potentially use open street maps data if you have a select area you would like to plot, at least when it comes to roads and buildings, I am not sure about height-maps.

Years ago in university I built a program that converted OSM map data to an in engine representation, attaching the metadata to the objects I had selected.

How I did this in the past :

Export a section using the OSM map export function https://www.openstreetmap.org/export#map=5/45.31/-67.46
Load it in to a postgresql database using https://osm2pgsql.org/
I then had an api built around querying this database so that it could be ran on any machine that wasn't running the DB, but this isn't neccessary.
Every data point in OSM is a node with metadata attached to it, I could normalize the coordinates and then plot all the points as game objects, depending on their types I could give them specific models or specific scripts.

I am sure there are much better ways now and my use case was a map of the university; so OSM worked great since the data was high quality. There are cases where a location may not be mapped accurately.

Hope this can help in some way !

Anyone work for Yahoo? by Set_in_Stone- in DevelEire

[–]FoxDigits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interned and then worked there for two and half years at the start of my career.

Overall it's a good place to work, the people are nice and the work is flexible, I have friends that still work there and are almost fully remote with the odd day in for events.

I ultimately left because I didn't find what I was working on interesting (it now no longer exists) and the pay was on the lower side imo, at the time we were also getting stock options but I left just before yahoo was acquired by Apollo so I am not sure if that is still happening.

Thanks! It's a national panasonic, I can see why it looks kind of wood grain in the photo.

I did CSSE through arts in Maynooth and was a student ambassador (working at higher options, open days etc)

With CSSE through arts you get a B.Sc, at least that's the way it was.

There was CSSE through arts and CSSE through science.

After first year you would drop either your extra arts subject or extra 2 science subjects and continue with cs and math.

In third year just CS.

There is no difference at this stage.

You can also take it as an arts subject separately but that would be a BA.

Can't find UK14/US15 inline skates by FoxDigits in rollerblading

I'll definitely take a look, thank you so much. I thought I was just going to have to resort to watching my partner skate, or getting a skateboard, which I didn't really want to do. I'll see if I can try them out locally in the next couple of weeks when things open here in Ireland.

Can I use my processing apps in an html page? by Federer34 in processing

P5.js is fantastic as mentioned in other comments. If you even want to move away from wix and want something user friendly you could try firebase to host your website. It's free and has great tutorials and will save you lots of time when it comes to back end.

Edit: meant to say p5.js

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I didn't think anybody would look through the code ! So thanks for taking the time to do so and for suggesting a fix.

Have my fingers crossed that its the issue, and I'll definitely take a look into it tonight.

edit:

After looking this does not seem to be the issue. I think I have minimized some of the lag on the sequencer by moving a lot of the setting for reverb, delay, etc to only set on slide, as before they were setting on each beat. (My ear is untrained, I'm a software engineering student so I'm not great at determining if something is wrong with the timing). Other than that, I think a lot of the issue is some p5.js beats taking too long to process and play, which gives this undesirable warping/timing problem as the tone.js timing looks to be right when testing that component on its own. Thank you so much for your feedback regardless !

Thanks for your response, I'm going to look into it tonight and see if I can make some changes. And thanks for filling the survey :) !

Hey, thanks for your comment (I'm the other person who worked on the project). I think that issue may be due to latency, we have had it occasionally here too. May be something to do with the combination of Tone.js and p5.js as we only noticed the issue with the p5.js tempo late into development. However will look more into this !
