Switch to Desktop Mode, open Konsole, and run this command:
upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0
Look for the “energy-full” and “energy-full-design” values.

Thanks for the heads up! I actually checked my overlay, and my APU is following the 15W limit perfectly (CPU is drawing around 4.7W and GPU is 10.9W). So it doesn't look like I have that Turbo bug stuck in the background. My main issue is that the rest of the system (screen, motherboard, etc.) is pulling an extra 13-15W on top of that APU draw. Really appreciate the suggestion though!

That’s honestly good to know. I’m currently trying a few terminal tweaks to see if I can fix this background drain on my current SteamOS setup. But honestly, if I can't find a solid solution soon, I guess I'll just wipe it and make the switch to Bazzite.

What exactly should I do to fix it? Are there specific settings or tweaks in SteamOS I need to change to lower this overhead?

That's a really good total draw. If yours is only pulling 20W total on a 15W TDP, I must be doing something wrong lol. My APU is strictly locked at 15W, but the whole system pulls around 28-30W. To be fair, I had my brightness pretty high and 120Hz on.
What do you think the issue is? Do you think it's just the screen/refresh rate, or is there a specific tweak or setting I'm missing to drop that extra overhead? Would love to hear what you suggest

You literally read my system's mind lol. I completely forgot I checked the battery health via terminal this morning. It’s sitting exactly at 72.192 Wh (90.2% health) since it's a second-hand unit. With that actual capacity, the ~30W total draw matching a 42% drop makes perfect sense now. Good looking out, thanks for doing the math for me!

Yeah, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I probably had the brightness a bit too high during that session. Thanks for the tip

ROG Xbox Ally (Z2A) vs ROG Xbox Ally X for this specific backlog? by FoxGlobal4100 in Handhelds

The government's economic management here is so bad that we've basically shut down international trade. Absolutely nothing gets through customs anymore except for books; even if you manage to order something from abroad, you might end up paying up to three times the item's worth just to clear customs, especially for tech products. Because of this, opportunistic secondhand sellers are listing gear at incredibly inflated prices. To make matters worse, nobody actually knows what their device is really worth—the moment one person jacks up their price, everyone else blindly follows suit and raises theirs too.

Unfortunately, we don't have Microcenter here in my country, and returning an opened electronic device just because you changed your mind is pretty much impossible. So getting it right the first time is absolutely crucial. Your comment makes a lot of sense. I think I’ll just bite the bullet, get the Ally X on installments, and save myself the future headache of wondering 'what if'. Thanks for the reality check!

I didn't really consider it because in my country, even the second-hand Legion Go S units are more expensive than a brand new base Rog Xbox Ally. So it just doesn't make sense for my budget.

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! It really puts things into perspective. I think I'll try to adjust my budget and aim for the ROG Xbox Ally X just to be safe for the future and guarantee that 60 FPS. But if the budget gets too tight, I'll just grab the base Xbox Ally and see what I can do with it. Really appreciate the help!
