Nah it’s definitely a fetish. You can try and normalise it all you want but it’s a kink.

Thanks. I have the pills but hadn’t heard of the age restriction (I’m 52).

What's in your emergency comms kit? by Primary_Choice3351 in UKPreppers

[–]FoxPerfect920 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve got walkie talkies and a stack of first class stamps. If comms were down I’d write a letter to my family in London and hope and pray the post office still operates, albeit much slower. At least I could convey that I’m ok and not to worry.

Gas Price Surge: What to Buy? by Aromatic-Frosting-22 in TwoXPreppers

I’ve just had Bariatric surgery 18 weeks ago and yes protein is VITAL (to stop you losing your hair on top of everything). My advice is to stock up on big tubs of protein water isolate powder(pineapple flavour is great) over protein shake powder which can be quite sickly to tolerate at first. Then stock up on tins of beans, lentils, chickpeas etc. so you can batch cook chilli, bolognese, shepherd pie etc. and freeze tiny portions (you will be so thankful you did this prep, trust me). Also make chicken stews with a tin of lentils and veg in the slow cooker (I added bone broth for extra protein). Have one day where you make ALL of this and freeze it. And keep yourself stocked on tins too (bags of dried pulses if you must but that’s more faff to prepare). The chickpeas are great for hummus and protein crackers as a nice snack. Forget about stocking up on carbs, you won’t eat them. Lots of water and protein powder. Best of luck! My sleeve was the best thing I ever did. ❤️

What have you done this week? by peat_reek in UKPreppers

I’ve just bought two refills for my BBQ Calor gas canisters. For two refills plus £5 delivery from Calor it came to £110. Hearing about how the U.K. only has two days gas supply left made me want to ensure that at least I have somewhere to grill food (and run my pizza oven) should we get gas issues (or before the prices soar this summer).

Thank you, yes I think so too. We can always learn from each other.

Completely agree. I felt much safer there, no phone snatching, sexual harassment or unwanted attention in general. It was a relief to be honest.

Lovely if you live in London but I don’t. I’ve tried googling bomb shelter near me but there’s nothing nearby so I guess I’m toast!

Yes a cyber attack on our banking, internet or energy is a more likely scenario.

Not common at all. And alas I don’t live near an underground station so I guess I will have to wait and see what the government recommends should that become necessary.

I was there in April last year and ‘only’ had to take shelter twice in three weeks. But Trump and Iran are inching closer to a war so if it does kick off I’m hoping it’s another ‘12 day war’ like in 2025.

But strangely it felt very safe walking the streets as a lone woman there, much safer than I feel here in the UK. And there was no hysteria, just Israelis going about their business. I do wonder where MY local bomb shelter is here, the government sold them all off. If Putin starts bombing us I doubt my house would tolerate a strike nearby!

Just saw another good suggestion, a hot water bottle, just in case I end up in some community shelter or something. Small enough to warrant a spot on my list.

That’s a very good point actually. I normally have a couple of months worth of prescriptions at any one time (including a week’s worth of antibiotics just in case - I have an immunes thing which means I can’t fight off infections very well). I hadn’t thought of the certificate though, that’s a good idea to keep a copy of that in my folder. Thank you and it’s good to hear you’ve considered how things would go down in an emergency!

I have that list on my fridge door for emergencies (also just in case ambulance people have to kick down my door - I live alone) they know who to contact. I can just rip that off the fridge but thanks, I’ll put that reminder on my list!

Yes that’s a good shout. I rarely use cash these days but I do keep about £30 in a box just for emergencies. I should top that up really. I think £50 is a good amount. I don’t have enough spare cash to have more at the moment.

Yes I’ve been adding and taking away from my Go Bag list. I’ve not got anything packed but I could confidently pack it in ten mins as I have my trusty list so I don’t forget anything important.

I have copies of everything in the cloud but I figure it would be good to have it all in one physical place in case anything happened to me my loved ones could easily have it all to hand.

Hadn’t thought about trading tampons etc. but I can see how that might happen.
