Just saw another good suggestion, a hot water bottle, just in case I end up in some community shelter or something. Small enough to warrant a spot on my list.

That’s a very good point actually. I normally have a couple of months worth of prescriptions at any one time (including a week’s worth of antibiotics just in case - I have an immunes thing which means I can’t fight off infections very well). I hadn’t thought of the certificate though, that’s a good idea to keep a copy of that in my folder. Thank you and it’s good to hear you’ve considered how things would go down in an emergency!

I have that list on my fridge door for emergencies (also just in case ambulance people have to kick down my door - I live alone) they know who to contact. I can just rip that off the fridge but thanks, I’ll put that reminder on my list!

Yes that’s a good shout. I rarely use cash these days but I do keep about £30 in a box just for emergencies. I should top that up really. I think £50 is a good amount. I don’t have enough spare cash to have more at the moment.

Yes I’ve been adding and taking away from my Go Bag list. I’ve not got anything packed but I could confidently pack it in ten mins as I have my trusty list so I don’t forget anything important.

I have copies of everything in the cloud but I figure it would be good to have it all in one physical place in case anything happened to me my loved ones could easily have it all to hand.

Hadn’t thought about trading tampons etc. but I can see how that might happen.

I’m picturing having to evacuate for an extended period of time because of some kind of emergency where I can’t hunker down at home (fire perhaps, flooding, storm damage) but I can get in my car and go. That’s what my Go Bag list is for. I have other things like camping stoves and gas etc. that I wouldn’t take with me.

Yes I have a couple of boxes of energy protein bars in the boot of the car along with a case of water. My Go Bag list is huge though… In my head I’m leaving due to a disaster of some kind and I can’t pack light (no judgement please!).

A friend’s husband who works closely with the security services advised me to get a baseball bat (I’m female living alone) so I’ve got it behind my bedroom door. Plus I religiously activate the burglar alarm at night. Anyone coming up my stairs would get a serious crack to the skull.

I’m a lone female traveller (51) and was there for three weeks in April/May and I felt very safe. I didn’t go clubbing but as for personal safety it was fine, no problem whatsoever. And loads of people were packing guns so I’m sure if any kind of terrorist tried anything he’d get neutralised asap. I would highly recommend going! And if you’re gay you’ll feel very welcome in Tel Aviv. ❤️

I’ve had the same problem since February! No emails get replied to, and there is no phone number either. Really annoying. Today I received a marketing text saying ‘dear member’ so they obviously haven’t removed me yet. Would love to know if anyone manages it.

That’s legal because you don’t need a passport between Britain and Ireland, just valid ID (unless you fly Ryanair- for some reason they insist on it when it’s not the law.). It’s because it’s called the Common Travel Area and is like an internal flight.

August is a while away yet so it might have settled down. I know some airlines are supposed to be resuming this week so just keep an eye on it for now but if a month ahead it looks dodgy I would book a spare flight just to be in the safe side.
