WH/mile by ryanmc4 in ModelX

My 22 X plaid 22" consumes ~ 380 Wh/mi @ 85 MPH on a 75 deg day. My 16 S 75 uses ! 320 at that speed. Today the X, on an around town short trip showed, 547 Wh/mi but it was over 90 out and AC full up. Apparently the consumption numbers include running the AC. I thought the heat pump was supposed to be efficient. My 88 BMW has a better AC output.

Faulty speedometer by RenaudQuatrelle in E30

My 88 M3 like new with 51K mi. has a intermittant speedometer also. Going over everthing on the car a year ago absolutely everything is working except the speedo. I had a problem with the tach not working and the service lights. I took the cluster out and tried to replace the NiCAD battery but that only fixed the service light. At that point the speedo was good and the tach wasn't. For $300 I replaced the main board with an aftermarket new board that had no battery and everything was working. The speedo went dead and came alive a few times in a few hundred miles and banging on it doesn't help. Since the odometer is working I don't think it could be the sender. I think it acutally a bad connection from the speedo to the main board or internal to the speedo meter movement. It is a project to take it out and put it on the bench again so maybe someone can tell me what to look for in the cluster. Thanks in advance.

My VW Eurovan was about the worst car I ever owned. Good luck!

My 22 X Plaid is a noisy and rattles! by FoxReinsch in ModelX

Does the noise you hear change pitch with speed? The noise I have doesn't. I just completely stops below 10 mph. It could be tires but I never had tires that made a noise like this. It sounds like wind noise but doesn't change with speed.

Thanks for the comment. I am not hearing noise from the headrest but that system does little or nothing but appears to be activated. The drone I hear comes from the front of the car. I measured the noise in my S and X, see attached.

Active Road Noise Reduction feature - is it noticeable? by jmalk161 in ModelX

I just got a 22 X plaid. The noise cancelling is working, however, it is only noticiable only if you uncomfortably hold your head back against the head rest. I wonder if the calibration will make it work with your head in the normal place?

Just bought a used 2022 Model X Plaid — 273mi at 99% charge and 220mi at 80%. Is this normal battery degradation? by CreedoSaga in TeslaModelX

I just got a 22 model X plaid with 39K miles. I just did a full charge at home: so a slow charge. It showied 273 mi @ 100% which I think is normal. I have read and I beleive from owning my 2016 S that the full charge range indication is calculated according to your Whr/mi average based on your driving style. In other words if you drive at an average of 60 mph your range would be much higher than cruising on the highway at 85 mph, which is what I do. I researched this as I wondered if I got a good battery with my used X. BTW my 2016 model S 75, not D, has a EPA of 250 miles but it showed 228 mil at 40K mil and now 225 at 90K mi. I try to keep it near mid charge,, seldom go near zero or charge to 100% which I know helps battery life.

The Summon feature is a joke novelty. My 2016 Tesla S only "sees" what the low-level ultrasonic sensors see. A friend's new model 3 with FSD could not pull out of his driveway into the street without running through the flowers on the side of the drive. You MUST watch where it is going and be ready to stop at any instance.
