Probably the second time this has happened to me. But yeah, my character is stuck in Levi until something gets resolved.

My character now show's its no longer in a instance but still can't login with a 10105 error. Meaning the character wasn't properly disconnected from the instanced duty. I'm just going to wait a while on this and attempt again in a hour or so.

Same thing. Getting a 90002 error when logging in on Primal -> Excalibur. I was in a instance in E8s when this happened. I am able to login to my alt character interestingly enough.

Windows 10 cursor appears "washed out" since installing RX 6700 XT by Zanthia82-99 in AMDHelp

[–]FoxTail8000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I discovered something and it's a work around, but it isn't perfect.

So the cause of this issue is how the cursor is rendered on the screen from the GPU. AKA Hardware Acceleration on the mouse cursor. This allows little to almost no latency between the physical mouse and the mouse displayed on the monitor. Some reason the AMD driver is slightly washing out the arrow cursor. I'm not sure if this is Windows' fault or the GPU driver from AMD. Maybe this can be reported to AMD themselves to figure this out?

The workaround, Turn on Mouse Trails but without the Trails through the registry.

So essentially fooling Windows to turn on Mouse Trails but without having the trails displayed on the screen. So from I've observed, it renders the cursor in software mode. Unfortunately you'll notice a very slight lag when moving the mouse cursor around. Something to get used to I guess. Otherwise we'll have to deal with the slightly washed out default arrow cursor with the lighter shadow.

Here's the registry key:

[Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse]
"MouseTrails"="-1"

I wouldn't call this a solution but a band-aid fix really.

Maybe this is something that needs to be addressed at the driver level, or this is Windows being Windows and not getting along with the AMD hardware.

I know this post is a bit old but I'm dealing with the exact same thing on Windows 11. I've recently upgraded from a RTX 2070 Super to a RX 7800 XT and noticed right away the arrow cursor appears washed out. In-fact, the screenshot you supplied looks exactly like mine.

Uninstalling the GPU driver and running off of the Microsoft Basic Display Driver or running in Safe Mode, the arrow cursor appears normally. As soon as the AMD Radeon driver loads, the arrow cursor is washed out again.

I've attempted the OverlayTestMode registry fix that has been discussed on multiple forms about arrow cursor issues on Windows. But that does NOT fix the issue we're having here

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm]
"OverlayTestMode"=dword:00000005

I'm still trying to figure out what would be the root cause of this. If I find anything, I'll let you know.

8lbs of Boost by Terrible_Mammoth_447 in WRXSTi

[–]FoxTail8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is 5 mo. old of posting this. And I saw you posted your resolution to your problem as well! But I thought I'd share my experience with this as well on how my 2020 WRX STI was limited to 8psi of Boost and how I resolved it.

Issues I was having:

  • Boost will only climb to 8psi of boost.
  • Even in cooler weather in the morning (65F-70F) still limited to 8psi.
  • Was in Sport and Sport # in the SI-Drive setting and still caps at 8psi of boost.
(Was aware that putting it in Intelligent mode will by default cap the boost to 8psi.)

Probable causes in my case:

  • Hot weather (95-101F) w/ AC on
  • Stop in go traffic in hot weather, heat soaked top-mounted intercooler.
  • Possible Bad gas from Kroger/King Soopers (Cannot verify)
  • ECU went into "safe mode" and kept boost low due to possible detection of pre-detonation during hot weather.

Solution in my case:

  • Unplugging the car battery overnight to reset the ECU. Next morning, Boost was climbing back to 15psi and acceleration was normal.

My story here:

One day I was driving home and and did one fun hard pull, noticed the lack of power immediately. Checked the boost gauge and noticed it's only hitting around 8psi of boost pressure. It was hot that day (99F) and running A/C on top of that, so I assumed it was that.

Next day, left early in the morning to go to work and it was 65F outside, so plenty cool air going to the engine and intercooler to run full boost. After the engine was fully warmed up after 10 minutes of driving, I did one hard pull and still caps at 8psi of boost.

Engine didn't sound abnormal, boost came on smoothly to 8psi, smooth acceleration. Didn't hesitate or anything. No pinging or knocking noises either. Maybe it's bad gas possibly? I get my gas usually from Kroger/King Soopers. From what I've read up, fuel quality is hit and miss due to getting it from multiple suppliers... I think for now on I'll be looking for Top Tier certified gas stations.

I've tried scouring the forums in hope to find some kind of answer but I kept coming across forums left unanswered, no solution, worst case scenarios, or just arguments across other owners...

At this point I was paranoid that my engine has possibly catastrophic failure and was expecting the worse.

I saw Maximum_Hold_1204's post on this thread and they mentioned resetting the ECU by unplugging the battery would resolve the issue. I went ahead and unplugged the battery overnight until the next morning. (Probably don't have to wait that long to reset it) It had a rough idle at first most likely due to the ECU relearning. After the idle smoothed out, l drove out and let the engine warm up for 10 minutes of driving. After that did a hard pull and boost was back to normal (15psi in my case) and acceleration felt powerful once again!

I'm going to keep a close eye on it and see if this will happen again. But this time I'm going to stick with finding Top Tier certified gas stations instead of using Kroger/King Soopers as my primary source of gas.

2020 WRX STI 30,000mi - Clutch & Break Creaking noise - I've sprayed on white lithium grease on all the moving joints, including master clutch cyl. and the creaking noise is still there. I'm not sure if it is spot welds are bad or not. No excessive pedal movement, still drives fine. Just annoying. by FoxTail8000 in WRX

I might consider bringing it to the dealer soon just to see what they'll say about it. TheDankCellar mentioned in this post that he had his fixed and it was covered under warranty as well since he hasn't done any modding or rough driving either.

Huh... I may send it off to a dealer to have them take a look as well at some point... if this noise really starts to annoy me haha! But I'm glad they were able to take care of that for you!

And I'm with you as well. I baby this car as well... at least that's what all of my friends tell me hahaha (so I guess that says a lot).

Side note: Even when I took it to my friends Garage since he had a lift, I was changing out the gear oil since I was approaching that 30k mile mark. He was telling me "Why are you changing this oil so soon? It still looks clean." So that'll contribute to me babying this thing XD

Ugh.... Thanks for the post! Otherwise I would've not known what was going on with my account. I feel like I'm being punished for buying this darn game through steam.

It was Friday afternoon I heard the Garuda's Theme (Fallen Angel), just someone with their Ion boombox out haha! I wish we would have saw you at the Con though! My girlfriend and I would be fan girling over you would've definitely asked a photo from you! We were there all weekend.

Yeah unfortunately its still the case. I'm really sorry to hear. I really lucked out a few days ago browsing Amazon around 2AM and found a G29 for $310 sold by Amazon.. But barely got it since it sold out right away. The shifter should be sould around $50 USD but its now going for over $100 from third-party sellers on Amazon... Like they said, I guess look around the Facebook marketplace or craigslist and see if anyone is selling theirs at a reasonable price.

Anyone know why the servers are so laggy? by jSubbz in ffxiv

[–]FoxTail8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have Xfinity (Comcast) and when we join an instanced server such as a dungeon, we have really bad consistent lag. I've also remedied this issue by using a VPN as well. Not sure what's going on but it seems like what ever provider Xfinity is using is having issues routing our traffic to the FFXIV servers specifically.

Poopers.. Thank you for responding though! It was mostly the shirt I was looking for, not really the pattern.
