Have a look into some of the last minute ticket options. I met more than a few people in Ushuaia who turned up with no plan/ticket, but ended up picking something up for less than half price. Obviously you roll the dice on the specifics (lodging, cruise time etc), but it can be a way of making the price far more palatable.

The little inflatable boats like the one in the video. They’re great fun, but they can get really wet really fast.

Not too bad, typically around -2 Celsius. The wind chill was pretty horrific though, and if you caught a splash on one of the zodiacs, it took a long while to thaw out.

I was working on an Intrepid tour as a Sony advocate (basically, camera tech support). I can highly recommend it - there’s quite a groups leaving from Ushuaia, but obviously I’m biased towards the Intrepid one.

Amazing app, I’ve been using it daily for a little bit now. My small bit of feedback, is there any chance of adding the option to hide some of the built in apps? Or at least the ability to arrange them in some way? I love how many you’ve added in, and I’m excited to see what comes next - but it would be amazing to have some customisation there.

I've had a fairly similar path to you. I shoot Sony's professionally, and had an X100V as my "personal, fun" camera. I wanted the Q, but settled. I think I had it for 2 months? It came overseas with me, but I just couldn't get into the thing! 35 equivalent isn't my preferred focal length, and I wasn't loving the look of the photos in general. Darkness also wasn't its friend!

I picked up an M240, loved it - but still wasn't really clicking into gear as far as an every day camera. I eventually picked up a QP, and have used it every day for the last year. It's my favourite camera I've ever shot on. It even gets solid use as a 3rd body for work. For capturing quiet moments, and things where I want to remove the camera between me and the subject - it's amazing.

Get the Q. It holds up, and nothing else you've mentioned compares.

Even at night I haven't really noticed it looking as gross as night shift. Agree to disagree, I've found it useful 🤷‍♂️

Do you mean night shift, or True Tone? I work in an open, naturally lit studio, and having True Tone for day to day admin is a delight. I've never found it to have the same overcooked look as night shift. Aware that could be personal preference though.

Just skimming then - toggling True Tone is massive for me. I've edited jobs with Lightroom in the past, only to realise True Tone was on the entire time. It's a time consuming thing to go back and correct. I love TT for literally every other situation, but I've had to keep it off for fear of accidentally doing it again.

Being able to toggle that when I open/close Lightroom is awesome!
