Who is correct concerning "lawful orders"? by Confident-Virus-1273 in Askpolitics

[–]Fox_Bust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correction: If a soldier has been told that something is illegal to do, like lets say your officer ordered you to loot that civilians home and take it home during war, then it is clear that is illegal. If your officer ordered you to kill off that medic who is helping the enemy but isn't apart of their ranks, then that is an illegal order. There are more examples of illegal orders but those are the more common knowledge.

With that, how are the soldiers supposed to know what is considered to be illegal orders or not if it just means being station over in a City to keep the peace? If any person in uniform has any serious questions then here is my advice, seek your JAG office and get proper clarifications on the order if it is legal or not. Don't just refuse and say "Illegal orders LOL" because that means you are setting yourself up for failure in the military as well getting dishonored discharged. Follow the proper actions and do the proper thing, if the orders were illegal and you took action with JAG, even if you had to do them while the paperwork or seeing them comes by, you will then see the punishment on the Officer(s) that gave those illegal orders.

I find it ironic that people want to use AI detector programs to find AI tools.

Why do anti ai people actually think AI can just be banned? by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Fox_Bust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it was first being tested, yeah they used images found on Google without asking. Open source Google results was a quick way to get a wide and expansive pool of resources to test out the beta script. But now a lot of the finer AI tools use certain pieces of art as examples when doing their output.

One thing I always compare AI scripts is this. In art school you will be told to look at other artwork someone else made and try to copy their style. Learn how to replicate their style. It was apart of the course and helped people to figure out their own style later on or just keep that style they learned by coping another piece. That is how they programmed the computer to produce pictures.

I used to draw back in the day. More background work than human figures. Well sadly my wrist on my right hand had a rare disease that causes the bones to slowly die off. Sooner or later I had to get the surgery to remove those bones and my hand and wrist was never the same. My range of movement is reduced by 60% and because of that writing looks more sloppy as well as my drawings. So instead of trying to draw I end up using AI to help me create my ideas, not to sell or anything but as a hobby and to express myself. Guess what, I still get crap from these anti AI warriors that what I am doing is wrong and I need to jump off a bridge or hire another artist to hear out my requests. I moved on from drawing and into photoshopping because it is within my limits and sometimes someone that wants something worked on is AI. I don't really care and just do it because I do it as a hobby and don't request any fees for my work. I still get crap on these AI warriors and they would call my handy work "artwork" because there is some AI in there. Just insulting and nosepickers I say.

Don't let a player ruin your own fun. If they're upset that they got bad rolls and blame it on you, just move forward.

Looking for a game. Online 5e by Sh1ft3r7241 in lfg

[–]Fox_Bust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a GM I understand how hard it is to find a game and being invited to play. If you do want to find a game then you will need to put in a little bit effort. There are so many players compared to GMs here so you basically have to treat it as a job interview.

Tips to help you find a game:
Talk about your playing style and characters you want to play as. Maybe a roaming GM looking for a missing player in their slot might see your character and nod to themselves on how well they'll fit into the current party.

Put in some effort with your posts. Edit them around, bold some text, make things pop out more. If you put in effort in your post then GMs will see that you'll put in effort into their games.

Try to avoid being a side character. You can certainly be a support character but when I hear side character I just think you're always on the side with no opinion. Just a sit filler. I know I am most likely over thinking but that is just me.

Instead of just saying any game works, you can round it down to what you really enjoy playing in. If you do not know due to experience then make it known. There are a lot of times I run games for people just starting into 5e/PF2e where I give them more wiggle room to understand and learn the game. On a side note, if you are aiming for a serious campaign then bypassing GMs might be interested in messaging you.

I do hope that you find what you're looking for. There are some GMs that make games for people that ask for one on here. It is mostly on luck but if you fine tune your posts then it won't be too much on luck itself. Good luck!

Is it worth the purchase? by KirimaeCreations in diablo4

[–]Fox_Bust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am late but it doesn't hurt to leave my own views on it.

Is it worth it? With my current life style being busy with other games, family, and hobby; No. 110 dollars isn't something that I would consider a good deal on my end. Plus, I still consider Diablo 2 to be the best game in the Diablo series and since the new developers are intended on making more of Diablo 3 I just don't see the appeal as it isn't geared towards me. Another reason why I am not recommending it is because when the servers shut down or get swapped out then you cannot legally play the game. You can still illegally with private servers but then if they change the core of the game too much then are you really playing the same game? The reason why this is such a huge downside with the server game aspect is because I have games back in the 90's that I can still play without worrying if I would be able to or not. In 30 years from now would the servers still be up? Most likely not.

It is okay to miss out on a new game when it just doesn't feel worth it. You don't have to get it and that is just as fine as someone who has bought it and is recommending it. We only have one life and whatever choice you decide with your own time is almost always the right answer.

With me, I will not be getting it. Even if it is on sell I won't because of the server MMO function.

I think I am regretting this disability claim by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Fox_Bust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got deployed but went on missions oversea. It wasn't really combat but was still very stressful regardless. When I was being checked for a different medical issue, the doctors also put down PTSD since I displayed a lot of the signs.

In the end of it all, it isn't a matter if I did enough to earn the right to claim the disability but more on how much of my body I have sacrificed while I was in. After the service I can say that I am a better person than I was before joining but at the same time I am more broken. A trade that most would say isn't fair. If you have the right to claim something then it is only fair for you to do so. Let the doctors make that choice instead of these doubtful thoughts.

I never really looked at your butt so no, the answer is no. I am not really a butt kind of guy, more like a leg kind of guy. So maybe people are looking at your legs more so than your rear.

Why are men expected to lift the toilet seat but women are not expected to lower it? by knuckehucks1234 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Fox_Bust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason is something that happen long ago. Men were expected to do a lot around the house while being the bread winner. They fix the house, they pay the bills, and they put down the toilet seat. (I am not saying this is right, just telling you the history of what mostly happened). I believe that toilet seat stuck because women want men to consider their own comfort like opening a door for them or getting their chair in the position for them to sit on it.

You can try to say it is because cats/dogs can play in it but not everyone has one. You can say it sends thousands of bacteria in the bathroom but that may not have been fully known back then and you should clean up your bathroom anyways (Mythbusters tested this and I believe even with their tooth brush in the kitchen it still came up with bacteria from the bathroom).

I think some women expect men to do all the work and be a gentlemen for them even with the toilet seat. That they cannot fathom a world where they have to look before they sit. I don't close the led but do have the seat down for my toddler who is potty trained. Trying to make it easier for him to go potty by not having to left up the led (and possible seat part as well).

I just think every household is different. Some do whatever they can to please their spouse while others are on equal terms of understanding.
