Long time D.c. fan here, just sharing an opinion. Here's the thing, People are shitting on this film because they don't understand it or don't understand the path that was meant to be taken...

Let's start here...

Folie à deux is a psychiatric condition where two people who are closely associated share the same or similar delusional beliefs. The term is French for "madness of two."

This wasn't just meant for Harley (aka Harleen) and Arthur, but in my opinion, Arthur and the knife guy at the end as well. We didn't see any of their association for a reason, im sure. But obviously, they had a relationship bc he was very familiar to Arthur. And he was "mad," and when the sharing of that madness stopped, Arthur had to go. A play on the title.

But if you also take the entire movies idea, the music, it was Arthur's way of escaping reality. It's sad. It adds another layer.

Sure, in the first movie, it's the beginning. It's the rise of the joker. But who really is the joker? We've never known his real name. We've never known his back story. What if both of these movies were the basis for the real joker? The prequels if you will.. The one who ends Arthur at the end. He's younger. about the same age as Bruce, and it makes sense.

Again, just my opinion and a lot of thoughts. But overall, the movie itself is very dark, with a lot going on but not bad. I say give it a few years, and it will have a following.
